Seoul: Day 3 - Everland x Seoul Tower + Teddy Bear Museum
January 27, 2014
Initially, I wanted to split day 3 in Seoul in two parts but if I break it down into two posts, the proportion of the post to the pictures that are gonna be posted would be disproportionated. In the end, I am just gonna upload all 65 pictures (after being filtered) of our Day 3 in Seoul in this entry.
Since it was the day for Everland, we decided to wake up early, hunted for this Isaac Toast which was raved by many other travellers for our breakfast before heading down to the bus-stop. Hahaha, my cutesy bitch couldn't pronounce the name 'Issac' so whenever she wanna mention it, she would spell it out so it goes like this,"eh this I-S-A-A-C Toast is quite nice, right?" HAHAHAHA joker.
Our beef patty toast...
WHERE'S THE PATTY?!?!?!?!
We walked to this bus-stop after breakfast...
5700, the bus to Everland!
While waiting for the bus, why not chew on some steamed corn?
She doesn't give mercy to any corn that's in her hands.
We finally arrived at the themepark!
The journey from town to Everland was a whole good 2 hours I guess.
Purchased the tickets at discounted price.
WE HAD ALL GOOD DEALS.
IT'S GOOD TO HAVE A WELL-RESEARCHED AND PLANNED ITINERARY.
Good job, Miss Koh.
Here's me presenting you a photo of our Miss Koh.
So christmassy.
As we started walking into Everland...
Such clear blue sky!
MOTHER OF ALL ROLLERCOASTER.
T-EXPRESS, the drop is so steep...
OUR SCREAM WAS CUT-OFF WHEN WE HIT THE DROP.
It just got cut-off unintentionally, like the force or drop was so strong and steep, the scream just stuck in our throats. Not only us, it happened to each and single one of us who took the ride. Now I know how come no one actually screamed during that plunge. After that drop, everyone just continued screaming, whole of the T-Express ride lasted for about 3 mins, it is definitely a must-go ride if you're in Seoul. Worth you all the wait man, we queued for 45 minutes!! Please do google the T-Express and read about it. IT WAS SO SO DAMN AWESOME. Our main objective to Everland Theme Park was to conquer this ride too!
We were strolling away in Everland & she saw this cute Korean theme park crew...
Then prompted me to help her take a photo with him hahaha. Quite cute la, why you never bring him home leh???
Kids from the school get a chance to visit Everland!!
How blessed... & look, such a sweet pair of kids.
Fun Fact #1: The rollercoaster is built with wood.
Fun Fact #2: Normally rollercoasters would slow down at the drop points but guess what? T-Express doesn't give a rat's ass about it... It literally just increased the speed when approaching the damn drop WTFFFFF my heart also almost dropped.
Petting Zoo, which we didn't even enter lol.
Ferris Wheel!
We didn't take this either.
Towards the end of our trip to Everland!
The public buses outside Everland.
Pictures taken in Everland aren't many because we kept our bags and camera in the locker, a little too much of a hassle to lug our stuffs around, needing to find lockers each time we wanna take a ride... So might as well, just keep it so we don't have to worry too much!
We left Everland at about 430pm - 5pm, because we had a date with our fellow SP mate whom we knew from our LTC trip. He was having his student exchange programme at Seoul University, so we met up with him for the night to do some catching-up as well!
We met him at one of the subway station which I can't recall which station was it already hahaha and then he brought us to a Korean BBQ restaurant for dinner! No pictures because... Just no pictures.
After dinner, 3 of us went on to explore the Seoul Tower as well as the Teddy Bear Museum. These two places are just right beside each other only! Seoul Tower has more scenic views compared to Busan Tower, and it's more touristy as well.
Here's some pictures I took as we walked through the teddy bear museum. To be frank, they are just teddy bears HAHAHA nothing's much about it. Some teddy bears are mechanized, so they can move around.
PSY.
SO SCARY PLEASE.
Oh btw, all the teddy bears in the scene have a history behind it which I don't think I went to read them all up hahahaha they are not displayed just for the sake of displaying... For example, some might depict a typical wedding tradition of a Korean couple and stuffs like that.
Please note this: Cheonggyecheon.
We visited it after our tour at Seoul Tower & Teddy Bear Museum.
I swear some of the teddy bears are good cut for horror movies man...
Let me present you 3 pictures that I took at the Seoul Tower.
This is the Seoul Tower.
As mentioned, after a trip to the aforementioned places, we strolled out and then stopping by this road stall and they bought this (I forgot what is it called) Korean snacks from this Ajumma. Hahahaha Teck Poh was trying to communicate with her in Korean but it didn't work out pretty well...
It's some pan-fried super sweet Korean snack.
IMO, it's too sweet for me.
Then, we continued walking to this Cheonggyecheon. A super long stream situated in Seoul. It's how amazing that South Korea can come up with super funny and interesting festivals. They really have all sorts of weird and random festivals going on around the year hahaha. We didn't even know there would be this ' Seoul Lantern Festival' going on until we reached the stream...
No idea how much the government spent on these items but it sure did attract a lot of people there, including the locals. It's good in a way that the government is trying to instil some history to the younger generation by having all these displays, sort of preserving their culture as well.
Okie, we ended our night after a stroll along the stream (it is really long and we didn't walk all the way from one end to another if I remember correctly), walked back to the subway station and then boarded train back to our own respective stations. That was when we parted our ways with Teck Poh! Thanks for spending a night with us in Seoul, bringing us around in town and sharing your travelling experiences with us!
What an insightful meet-up, I must say!
Xx
