To stop hating, first, you gotta start loving yourself.

This is basically, the fundamental step to actually start loving. It's something like, if you don't learn how to love yourself, how would people expect you to give them the love they need from you, right? If you don't possess the love for yourself, you can't even have the qualification of sharing or giving your love for others. Makes sense, no?

To start loving yourself, you've gotta...

Accept yourself as you are, be it the good, the bad, the weird, the dark side of you. You need to have the courage to accept who you are before you learn how to love yourself. Yes, everyone has flaws, no one is perfect, but these flaws present the REAL you. By loving yourself, you're showing others how you are actually treating yourself, how should they eventually learn the way to treat you and also, they would know, how are you going to treat them! It's a win-win solution, right? 

No one can love you more than you ever love yourself!

Seriously, how can self-love be limited, and it gets capped or restricted by what/who? Your parents? The governors? The implemented laws? NO. It's NOTHING. Nothing can stop you from loving yourself! I'm not talking about being as a narcissist, but in the sense of treating yourself better. Sometimes, after an exhausted day, you've already used up every ounce of your energy to get things flow smoothly, you deserve to get pampered! Splurge a little on yourself, make yourself happy by doing the things you love, etc... These are also some ways to show that you actually love yourself by treating yourself a tad better, mentally and physically.

& then, you should ditch all the hatred!

So you could make some space in your heart, soul, and mind for some love. Really, if you know you are easily getting frustrated at minor, mediocre, useless, insignificant stuffs, ask yourself, why? Why would you wanna make your life miserable by drawing yourself down in this emotional whirlpool? What's the worth? Seriously, sometimes, you just have to learn and let go. Yes, there are times that you might wanna burst out screaming on top of your lungs, but subsequently, you still need to get over it. The problems you're facing now, will eventually be irrelevant in the days, months or years to come. There will always be new problems occurring, so why not, take a step back and enjoy the awesome things you're neglecting now instead? Don't forget, these wonderful things won't last either!

Everyone needs love, & love is free.

Each and everyone of us comes from a very different background. You won't know where or how that someone is being raised up, so stop judging... There's always a part of the saddest history in one's life, you won't know until he/she confides in you. Everyone is fighting their own battle, some, they are just a silent warrior, they keep it low. Yea... You don't know and will never know about someone's past. As they are trying hard to win her/his battle, the least you could do is to show some love, share and spread the love. It's free, love is unlimited, it's free-flowing, just like the waterfalls. You don't see waterfalls getting dried up, do you?

But how? How to show the love?

Spreading a small amount of unconditional love really brings a lot of happiness to one. The person who thinks that they least deserve the love from anyone are those who actually deserves the most. It's not tough to show the love. Love comes in many ways, it can be in form of caring of others, sending a RANDOM heartfelt message to friends, finding out how have they been, even a smile to a stranger on the road could make a big difference! Can you imagine, when a worker has had a bad day at work, he is all grumpy and moody, nothing goes well for him but hey, when he receives a smile from a random passerby, it literally would brighten up his day. At least, there's someone who is willing to spread the small act of friendliness to people around, and you know, I KNOW YOU KNOW IT, that... Happiness is contagious!

Really, one should stop hating & start loving.

Yes, I had a couple of heated incidents with people in my past but as the years passed, the hatred is now gone. Despite the fact that we are no longer in contact, but I don't hate them anymore. What's more to hate anyway, you cannot undone the past. In fact, I felt wasted for all these friendships built. One argument generally leads to the end of a friendship, when your clouded mind is cleared, when you want to reconcile with them, it just feels too late... Probably, maybe, sometimes, I just don't have the courage to restart this whole friendship thing and let the nature takes its course. Trust me, I really don't bear grudges and when I say there's no longer any hatred in me, I do mean it.

Live for the moment.

Start loving.

Stop hating.

Life will be better. :)

Hello wello!

I'm blogging via the blogger apps on android hahaha cos the photos are taken using the secondary camera with my HTC so pardon the mediocre quality for the images, and the other 2 gotten from soul via whatsapp.

Y'all know, this whole week, I've been staying at home for most of the day's except for Monday and Wednesday which I had school! I'd go out for a run around MBS with the soul & a few old guys after their work but it was my dad's birthday so I eventually, couldn't make it. Then, my soul was telling me she wanted to try long distance & asked what was the available date I could make it for a run.

The day was today! Or, it should be yesterday since now it's already Sunday. We tried using the route shini gave us, from SP to Holland V to Dempsey and finally, destination is Botanic Garden. To and fro, it measures about 11.2km so, that was our aim but guess what! Hahaha running with soul was a whole new experience. We literally talk and run at the same time. Tell me about training stamina. Hahahaha nothing beats talking & jogging at the exact same moment, talking non-stop man. She's my first running buddy who could make me talk throughout the run. #steadyla!

Anyhow, hahaha she is another girl who's really damn steady. For instance, I was dating like,"eh I think this way also able to reach back SP..." She would be like,"okay, let's go!" That was how we ended running more than initial kilometers. Hahaha we were sort of going thru all the housing estates at Namly road, Sixth avenue and those super rich locations. Omg, I feel so demoralized hahaha to live in such mega massive houses and drive super luxurious cars, your income really must have some standard. Even being millionaire also only enough to buy hdb flat which you would then... Lose your millionaire status. Standard of living in Singapore is rising like the phenomenon el Nino effect lol.

When we were running from Holland V to botanic garden, hahaha a guy in black Porsche really looked out at us while we were jogging hahaha we went insane because we both had the same reaction of,"omg did you see that! The guy looked at us!" Hahaha all the laughter and jokes really gotta maintain, good for stamina but one fine day, I think even when we are in pink health without any history of asthma, it would just hit on us suddenly lolol.

Today, we did quite a lot of things for the first time! Which kinda makes me happy, like I couldn't even remember when was the last time I did something for the first time! It's not as if, it's something so important it creates a milestone in my life but hey, little bit of such acts in life could really lift up your spirit man! The only things we didn't manage to fulfill were trying to hitch free ride hahaha and send in confession at timbre! Honestly speaking, the thought of hitching free ride was all along in our brain because the weather was mad insane melting hot! We almost went berserk hahaha the tongues were all dried up, partly also we kinda talked our way through hahaha and we didn't bring bottles along. Super adventurous, please!

Life is pretty enjoyable, something I must confess, if only you want it to be fruitful and get a rough plan for the day. Despite of the fact that it was just a normal running day out with just a close friend, it could be so much more fun, joy and laughter compare to going out with a big group. It's just something that goes along with this saying,"same same but different." The run we had was lethargic, like seriously, the sun was scorching hot and it had been blasting its ray at us from the start of the run until the very end. It was all the while in front of us... But at the moment like this, we could still entertain ourselves, & it just makes everything more bearable. Happiness is contagious!!!

It was a well-drafted plan for a simple day like this! We reserved table at timbre, we got there in time, hahaha with the aid of my HTC Google map navigator. It was my first time using it, and hahaha I find it pretty amusing lol like omg it's so trustworthy and really accurate. Tell me that I'm a mountain tortoise but I don't care. HAHA yes, satisfied my craving for duck pizza, tried new drinks and even though we had to sit outside because low tables inside are all already reserved but omg, weather was so good, with the... River breeze, beautiful skyscrapers or more of like the buildings hahaha skyscrapers are too high up in the sky to use it on buildings in Singapore, & yes, the super cute cum sociable waitress plus the live band, makes it really an awesome chill-out place!

 

You know, the hectic life in Singapore really dampens one's mood. Sometimes, you need a timeout with a few friends and just enjoy moment like this. It feels uber great! Even with just one friend but if that one friend can be a really superb companion, it's more than enough! Hahaha and yes, soul, you made an intimidating companion to other friends of mine lol because you drive hahahahaha just kidding!

Okay, short post for today and I gotta hit the sack soon. Exhausted!

Hahaha, I took this when I was in New Zealand. YES. IT'S NEW ZEALAND. Oh my goodness, my recent posts would have a touch on this marvelous country without fail. Just an hour ago, my BFF told me my favourite song was used on New Zealand tourism TV commercial, aired in Australia. I GUESS I WAS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE A KIWI, BUT SOME CONNECTIONS WENT WRONG AND I ENDED UP IN TRULY ASIA. Nonetheless, the song should be quite well-known by many. OLD IS GOLD, PEOPLE. Appreciate it.

Alright, I WAS kinda hyped up initially...

Then, after a shower (supposed to be freshened up, feeling more awake...), I'm feeling kind of a little sleep right now. Sometimes, my brain is really a scumbag. I can't seem to wake up in the morn for school, I'd snooze my alarm for like, 3 times, before I actually drag myself off my bed and prepare for school. Except, the morning lesson at 830am, I don't have any time allowance allocated to laze in bed. I would jump out from bed instead to fight through the crowds at customs ad be early for school. Oh yes, my brain is a scumbag because... When it's my off day, I WOULD WAKE UP AUTOMATICALLY IN THE MORNING DESPITE NOT HAVING THE HEALTHY DURATION OF 8 HOURS OF SLEEP. WHAT KINDA SORCERY IS THIS?! Need some enlightenment here.

First and foremost, 

14th March, this is my daddy dearest's birth date! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!! He's 54 this year, still as strong as a bull, kind of a workaholic like always, and born with this super undeniable good temper. He neither scold nor cane us at all, ever since we were young and being mischievous. My mom would always be the villain, caning my brothers and I as if the world was gonna end tomorrow but don't worry, it doesn't happen now already. So, my dad treats me really well, he always gets the stuffs I need for me (Not that I am princessy) but if I could, I would have settled things on my own instead.

He's chilled like an ice.

Hahaha, he's one of those who doesn't really show out his love for anybody, not even to my mom. He's like a wooden block, I guess... That's the culture of my WHOLE family. It's hard for me to verbally confess to someone but I could do it easily over a letter or text, but just not verbally. My whole family doesn't flaunt the family love around, we don't hug each other or say something mushy to one another. Maybe, my parents don't practice such acts since young, hence, we're really good at repressing our feelings to ourselves.

(Honestly speaking, my gratitude for him can never be measured, it's like the endless flowing river you find in New Zealand. He works so hard to earn enough money, sending 3 of us to complete our education. Whenever you need something, he would try his best to get it done, he believes that with hard work, anything and everything can be done. Helping others is his forte and he keeps secrets well!! There was once when his friend confided in him, he pretended nothing actually happened. He likes to joke around with me and kid me, he was telling me that he was already home the other day and he had to come out just to pick me up but actually, he was still in his office working. He's one of the best fathers you yearn to have. I AM NOT KIDDING. ALAMAKKKK, cannot express my overflowing gratitude anymore in words. I LOVE YOU, DAD!!)

The time on my laptop says it's 1:56am right now. My bed is calling out to me, my sheepies are asking me to hug them to sleep and my bunny is already asleep but actually, sometimes, I sleep on my bunny and/or sheepies lolol. My brain seems to be dysfunctional at the moment, I shall blog again at a sooner date...

The picture above was taken during this impromptu sightseeing tour in the moving train from Dunedin Railway Station to somewhere else in New Zealand. If my memory didn't fail me, it should be the last sightseeing tour we had for the 11 days roadtrip in New Zealand. Initially, they planned to visit the Cadbury chocolate factory but I guess, chocolates are not in the liking for the adults!

Truth to be told, the scenery viewed from the train was pretty much the same when we traveled by car, probably just an up-close views of those cows and sheep, the mountains and whatnot. The night before, I only had a few hours of sleep, thus... I sort of napped in the train when it was returning to town but I AM SURE I didn't miss out much! The train ticket was about.. 90$ in NZD for adult and this special sightseeing train tour is only available during the weekends or is it every Sunday only. You get to alight at some mountainous area and then, to the destination (which serves damn good beef pie, beats those that I had throughout the whole NZ trip!!) at... I forgot the name, you can always google it or wait patiently for it when I start blogging about my New Zealand Trip!

I'm pretty good in procrastination.

You all already know why when I have been delaying my New Zealand post! It's enough said, actually... 'Cos New Zealand is a MUST-GO county, will leave you with no regrets. Scenery might look the same but it would always present you with a whole new perspective each time you look at it. The nature just takes your breath away, in comparison with Singapore, all you see are buildings, construction sites, and more buildings! Trust me, you wouldn't become blase about the landscapes in New Zealand. It's really a norm to see cows and sheep, uncountable of them, in NZ, but guess what? There would be people talking about it in car when they witness such scene, EVERY SINGLE DAY. I repeat, EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. If you're feeling indifferent about it, maybe travelling isn't a type of adventure for you.

Just recently...

I meant, just yesterday, I was telling my soul that life has been really mundane for me. As previously mentioned, I only have school on every Monday & Wednesday. Monday sure always gets painted in blue because my lesson is at 830am & I've to tackle all uncertainties that are gonna stumble upon my journey to school from Malaysia custom. The bus frequency, the congestion at the causeway, the buses queues, & if it rains, we must get ourselves ready slightly earlier because, it's bound to have traffic jam at Bukit Timah area. Sometimes, or probably, most of the time I would be 30 minutes early for school on every Monday but my attention plunges after an hour or so into the lecture. I've already spent half of my morning traveling, & I usually don't get enough sleep for the day... Brain is instantly fried when I'm halfway through the lecture, sometimes I'd fall asleep just so unknowingly...

Wednesday isn't any better.

My school starts from 12 to 630pm, tell me about the peak hour traffic. Before you even get to board the bus, you have to fight through the crowd at the bus stop. You know, this is when... Sometimes, you just have the urge to leave the class an hour early if you do not wish to get stuck in the human jam, otherwise, you will end up waiting an hour at the bus stop. Rush hour is no joke, & it genuinely leads me to ending class early on  my own accord. Ever since the overseas lecturer left, local lecturer took over and I haven't been leaving the school on time because I'd have already left the school by then. I feel guilty over it but it just hard to resist wanting to dismiss ourselves earlier from the class... Microeconomics in the early noon, brain juice is almost dried up by the end of it & we have to attend another super dry lecturer, anymore drier, you could have started fire effortlessly.

Worst of all,

Handouts provided for students and the slides being used in the lecture, are always different. It makes life even tougher when we have to copy the whole damn slides on our handouts. You ask me, why don't I take photographs of it, & I'll tell you, the lecturer doesn't allow us to do so, like seriously?! Some of us would still take pictures secretly but, I carry on with the traditional way of copying it down. If I miss any of it, I wouldn't ask people for it 'cos at the end of the day, we would just revise it off from the textbook. Maybe, just maybe.. I'm not the studious type of girl...

Which then leads to the regrets I had.

I was telling my friends, I kinda regretted not applying for JC after my O-Levels. My results were good enough to enter a decent JC but I know what I wanna work next time, and that, I wanna escape from all the sciences and mathematics subjects. Hence, JC wasn't one of my choices when I was applying for my next phase of education. It certainly built up some regrets in my life.

Polytechnic was fun.

I had my fair share of getting crazy with friends, mostly, all my CCA mates back in SP. I joined the SP Adventurers, gained quite a bit of knowledge on outdoor activities from the seniors, our super proficient student development officer (SDO), and some of the trips we organized. From the land to the sea, trekking at various mountains, overnight cycling, kayaking to another island. Without these, I wouldn't be as active, I wouldn't know about bouldering, rock-climbing, kayaking, playboating, abseiling, caving, getting my boating license, and whatnot. I'm now, more exposed to the nature than back in secondary school, when all I know was just the court games; I was a former netball player. It was undeniably fun and enjoyable back in SP but, GPA was another problem if we ever wanted to get into local universities like NTU, NUS, & SMU.

I'm not as studious as the others.

The highest GPA I'd capped in my 3 years of polytechnic life was 3.69. It was the GPA for the final semester, not even cumulative... I ended up with 3.01 for cumulative GPA which was required for applying into universities. Local universities are so hard to enter with such lousy GPA. As a polytechnic student, you need to have at least 3.8 - 4.0 (max.) to secure a place in uni, and interviews only go out to people who are within the range, probably 3.4 - 3.7? I was really far from that, & CCA + testimonials weren't even enough to help me. The competition between JC students & polytechnic students is just so tough... IMHO, I always think that getting into JC, scoring all Bs would allow you to get into local uni quite easily but for GPA as high as 3.5 or so, you must have a few Distinctions, As & Bs to achieve it. Even just a D grade, will instantly pull your CUMULATIVE GPA down.

If only, if only...

I had put in ample effort for all the semesters in polytechnic, not just the final semester. I would have gotten into SMU, going for school exchange in Europe, life would be more interesting by then. The only person I can blame, is myself. Why didn't I be as hardworking, as studious as the other geniuses, making a remarkable history in my life by scoring max. capped 4.0 GPA. I truly believe that if you want something as badly as you want to breathe, you will succeed. Maybe, when I was young and naive, I didn't plan for my future, ended up playing so much back in poly, getting such average results, & now, I suffer a boring life. I could have gone to Australia for studies but my dad wanted me to study in local, thus the choice of my university. It's not cheap to study overseas, at the end of the day, the only paper you receive is just a degree certification, & many people are still jobless even with the certs.

Oh well, life seems so uninteresting.

Blabbering about how much I regretted choosing the path for my education but each choices I've made, shape me to who I am right now. I am contented with my live currently, but it just seems that it could definitely be better. I know it all lies within me, myself, and I. I think I seriously gotta wake up right now and get my engine started. I wish I could just pop some sense-of-urgency pills, have a panic attack, forcing me to clear off my tasks on hand. Sometimes, things are easier said than done...

& so you know...

I flew to New Zealand with my parents & their friends for the Chinese New Year, exactly a month ago. First flight was from SGP to Sydney, Australia, on the night of 7th Feb, then transiting to Auckland on the 8th Feb morning. We toured New Zealand for 11 days before this trip had to end with an awesome note.

You wonder... How did I mingle with all the old married couples.

Old married couples, it refers to the age range of at least 45 - 58? They are a bunch of golfers with their spouses. Initially, the trip was to have tee-off session in New Zealand but thankfully, they voided the idea and made it as a sightseeing roadtrip! Anyhow, I just had to join in the conversations of how aunties and uncles communicate. They do talk to me, about all the adventurous stuffs, telling me about their past as a kid & whatnot.

Oh, there was a family in the trip too, they brought their son and daughter, aged 16 & 5 respectively. The mom is a Taiwanese, so the kids have this Taiwanese accent which made them sound so professional when speaking mandarin compared to the rest of us. The daughter ought to be awarded with a "Most Sociable Kid" trophy. She was like an apple of everyone's eyes man, she went around hugging everyone, even to some Korean women when we were onboard, cruising through Milford Sound.

It's a choice.

It's easy to socialize as long as you want to but sometimes... I'm kinda reluctant to talk much, it depends on the situation too. I'd talk more to people who are way older than me as a form of respect. I meant, you wouldn't wanna be disrespectful and trying to shun away from them when they just need to find someone to talk to, right? Imagine, you might be one of them as years go by... Karma hits you in your face, unexpectedly quick and hard. Seriously, I really do believe in karma, sometimes... I'd go MIA halfway when people whatsapp me, & it does happen on me as well. It sucks but then you will get used to it in time though.

About this NZ roadtrip...

Pictures really speak a thousand of words. The scenery was AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, BREATHTAKING, EYE-CATCHING, FABULOUS, STUNNING, MAGNIFICENT, ASTONISHING, AWESOME, etc... It was soooo laidback, you would get tranquilized just by staring at the skies, enjoying the cool & non-sticky breeze, mesmerizing the calm translucent rivers and valleys. This is to an extent that you would just wanna migrate there and be a farmer forever. You just gotta buy a piece of land, transform it into an orchard and plant some fruit trees, or just rear some moo moo and meh meh, milk them whenever they are ready or shave their furs! You could live there like for the rest of your retirement life.

It's a place for EVERYBODY.

Many sightseeing could be done (for the grey hairs) or adventurous activities such as... Tandem skydiving, bungee jumping, trekking, mountain biking, bouldering, kayaking and many other adrenalin activities! It's really awesome because... You can witness aurora over there at Lake Tekapo!! JUST KIDNAP ME AND SEND ME BACK THERE ALREADY. Weather was super awesome as well, I went there during the last few weeks of Summer, the temperature was like 10 - 23 degree Celsius! Just a sweater would do the trick but Southern part of New Zealand was colder... Anyway, you will be accustomed to the weather as well, after a few days there.

I know right...

Up till now, I haven't really penned down anything about my trip there, just some brief introduction on New Zealand. I took at least 2000 shots of pictures over there man, it's stored in another harddisk of mine which I passed to a friend & haven't had the chance to retrieve it. Hmm, but... I think... I should have the backed up copies in the SD card if I didn't delete them to make space for some other shoots. I will upload soon, on Facebook, and some on this blog when I have a faster internet speed, hopefully by next week!!

The bottom line:

It's really a superb country and I will go back again to complete what I didn't manage to, with some close and awesome friends.

Recently, about my life...

It's really same shit but different day.

Schooling is like holidaying for this semester.

Considering, I only need to complete 3 courses, my timetable is SUPER slack. School is on every Monday & Wednesday. I do usually have super long weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, and then, off day on every Tuesday. Everyday after school, I would ask myself this,"Have I learn something in school today? Or am I just attending the lecture because of the sake for it?" I'm a full-time student but it feels like I'm studying as a part-time student instead. I do follow up and complete my assignments but... You will experience this.. Hmm, how do I phrase it... It's so hard to describe a feeling... It's something like,"HEY, 3 hours in school & it feels like holidays again!! It's so slack that I don't feel like studying..." Something along that line... 

Therefore... To make my life more interesting...

I've been going out on every Thursday for some sports with the old birds from SPA. I would specially head to Singapore in the noon and wait for them to end their work so we could do some running around MBS, from boat quay that area to MBS, then spend time together during dinner. Normally, I would meet my soul a.k.a Cynthia Neo, for a movie or some pre-running activity like... BADMINTON. It's insane looking at the way we play. It fits this phrase,"PATTERN MORE THAN BADMINTON" literally. We always come up with stupid ideas when playing badminton, from running through 3 empty courts while hitting the shuttlecock to and fro, or that, yesterday, we actually played with more than one shuttlecock in a game. It's even more tiring than expected and I have blister on my finger because of it. IT'S ALL WORTH IT THOUGH.

Sometimes, you just need some sports to divert your attention.

I cannot stand staying at home alone, facing the laptop all day long. It just feels so sad and lonely, sometimes. Hanging out with friends are always better than being alone, although sometimes you need some me-time but you won't want that to come so often because it would mean... You're on the downside of your life and need a quiet moment for yourself before tuning back to the usual life and stepping back into this hectic life.

Life would be really boring...

If you have nothing to worry about, nothing to get frustrated with, nothing to look forever to, nothing to be happy for. Whatever life throws you, just embrace it because it won't last forever. Problems will always be solved, happy moments will be gone so cherish it whenever you get to enjoy it. If you don't get to experience all the downs, you definitely won't truly understand the meaning of happiness... Life is a lesson, you learn from it, gain all the experiences, and then, cultivate a even better life ahead. Sometimes, you land yourself into some shithole situations but just tell yourself, things will be okay, if it's not okay, it's not the end. Life goes on! Get through the downside, then enjoy the awesome moments.

There won't be rainbow without the rain.

Life is like a rollercoaster, there will bound to have all the ups & downs so you can feel all the excitement, and making sure... You're not a robot to not feel anything or be being so insensitive and not emotional at all.
