Seoul - Day 2: Naminara Island

January 19, 2014

Hey guys!
I know I haven't been blogging, not that I am busy although I did go for interview and nah, it wasn't the right job I am looking for... Oh well, the right one will come soon, hopefully.

So right now, I am gonna blast a total of 69 photos for our trip to Naminara Island on the 2nd day in Seoul. Sadly, it wasn't the peak period whereby the island would be filled with all the autumn maple leaves... BUT, we still got our fair share of sightseeing there (at least there were still some trees plastered with the leaves).

We walked to this Angelic Cafe situated in the Seoul Station for our breakfast. The KFC there doesn't sell KFC A.M. breakfast, even in the morning, they still sell their normal meals... I wonder how people actually can have fried chicken in the early morning.

This is the device that will beep when our order is ready.
It actually plays commercial in this electronic gadget... Advertising everywhere.

 My travel buddy.
Not sure what's so nice on the receipt.

The Counter
Just like some typical coffee cafe in Singapore.

These sandwiches are our breakfast!
Cheese, egg, & ham.

After this simple breakfast, we followed the route to Naminara Island as googled by our super helpful and handsome receptionist at our hostel!

Yup, he circled the stations on the map for us...
With the directions written by him. :D

We had to transfer to another subway at this station.
I can't remember how many times we had to change the subway line to get to the final station.
The journey... wasn't... sho..rt....

Probably one of the "unique" designs I had seen on the subway in Seoul.

The station is surrounded by all the mountains!
Seoul really is accompanied by a lot of mountains...

After the long train rides, we finally arrived at our destination!
Gyuong Chun Station.

Apparently, it's not that easy to get to Naminara Island.
After alight from the station, we had a choice whether to cab to the ferry terminal or take a bus there. We actually wanted to take the bus but there was this BIG group of Malay students from KL, we figured, we wouldn't be able to board the bus if whole group of them was going to take the same bus... The frequency of the bus sucked pretty much too... So we gave up and went to the opposite from where we got out of the station, and queued for a cab!

This is the station, picture taken while we were waiting for the bus at the bus-stop opposite.

This is the cab queue, the wait was bearable.
We also shared cab with two locals, so we could split the cost. They were the ones who asked to share so we were like... WHY NOT.

While waiting...
Here's a shot.

Anyhow, we finally got onto our cab, it was about 10mins drive to the ferry terminal from the subway station! The fare was about 6000KRW if I remembered correctly.

 Entrance.

 Here's our tickets!
8000krw/foreign tourists

 NO LAW ONE.
AS IN, there's no proper queue for us. People just stand around in a mess while waiting for the ferry to charter us there. It was so damn packed, everyone just started squeezing each other...

The ferry that we took over to Naminara Island!
SEEEEEE, no idea how many pax can the ferry fit but yup, it was full-house.

All the flags from various countries!

Reflective shot of Shini & I.

The kids who stood beside me...
Not sure if they are South Korean or... Japanese.

The ferry ride was about 5mins or so!
We finally reached the island, the view was spectacular... We don't usually see or experience autumn season back in Malaysia/Singapore, let alone seeing all these beautiful orange/yellow/red leaves! Of course, we were both super stoked and excited! Camera & instax were all out to kill!!!

 Entrance of Naminara Island

& so, the rest of the post...
I will let the pictures to do all the talking instead.
Enjoy!

You actually can do some postcard posting here!

 TRAIN TRACK!

Finally, we were done with Naminara Island...
After a couple of hours, just purely strolling around the area.

Queued (finally, there was usher for a smoother queuing experience to board the ferry), then this time round, we went inside the ferry instead...

This toddler looked tired...

I guess Naminara Island is worth going, at another point of time in the year. Different seasons give you a different kind of sightseeing there... Likewise, a couple of friends went there during winter so... The whole place was filled with snow, just like what you will see in the show,'Winter Sonata'. There won't be any red, orange, yellow autumn leaves but botak trees with branches, twigs, and sticks... You can build snowman though! Different kinda activities to do there anyway but winter season means daylight is shortened... So... Gotta really seize the day to cover as many places as possible!

I continued to blog after I came back from dinner... and then... I got lazy, the drive to blog is gone hahaha thus the short and meaningless blog entry but hey, at least the pictures do keep you entertained???

Have a great Sunday night!

Another week to go for CNY! YAYYYYY!!!

Xx
