Malaysia 13th General Election
May 07, 2013
Black & White.
For the lost of democracy in Malaysia.
(Also, to show my face lolol)
I've missed my blog.
As you guys know, all universities are currently having their finals, and students like me are cramping last minute work to put on a brutal battle for this coming weekend papers. Yes, my papers are on a weekend, on a Friday and a Saturday. One more thing to grumble is... The school set our examination timetable in a way that we actually have a 18 days gap from the 1st paper to the 2nd & 3rd paper. It's more than half a month study break man, how can our motivation last for that long, when it feels almost like a holiday to (most of) us already. On a hindsight, our liberty will be here in about 4 days' time, finally... The long wait will be over. Hopefully, I can clear my semester smoothly and results will be out on the 31st May.

Malaysia 13th General Election
Sunday, it was the 13th general election for Malaysia for every 5 years. Everyone, by now, should have known about the infamous "DIRTY" election held. Pictures and videos of the dirty acts have been going on viral on the social media, mainly on Facebook.
I just feel really disappointed and devastated in a country, which claimed to be a TRULY Asia isn't even true to her own people. What's with the sudden blackout when recounting the votes, and then, additional votes mysteriously appeared when the electricity resumed. What's with the numerous buses of foreign workers, from the Nepal, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh and some other countries arriving at polling centres to cast the votes? What's with the "indelible" ink which was said to last for a week, getting washed off so easily? What's with the racist comment about the overwhelming votes from the Chinese, the "Chinese Tsunami" term came up. What's with the police officer taking note on how many people have entered the voting centre (this actually happened at my booth!!!)? What's with the abundance of identity cards found on the roadside, being thrown away by the foreign workers?
These are the prominent issues witnessed by the local civilians' naked eyes, and you actually claimed that it's a clean and fair election? Biggest joke in the history, maybe need to award you a trophy for it. Your wrongdoings are atrocious, do you even know that? What I'm trying to convey is if you wanna play dirty, maybe, you should do it discreetly so there won't be so many uprising problems and bringing such a disgrace to Malaysia, politically. There are always internal political disputes, I don't believe that there will be a parliament with really clean slip of record... Anyhow, but thanks to these acts, it actually depicted a nation's unity towards building a democratic country.
Can you imagine, civilians volunteered to go around catching phantom voters, trying to block cars with mysterious additional votes from entering the votes counting centres, creating petitions so people could sign and make it known to the White House in US. They did these all because they wanted a fair and clean election, for a brighter and better nation... I really admired and appreciated these actions from my fellow Malaysians.
On the other hand, I do rather feel sad for the foreign workers who actually tried to cast their votes but ended up, getting beaten by the locals... Personally, it's actually not their fault, the blame should be on the mastermind who manipulated this whole series of event. They were actually being "threatened" to follow the orders from the upper management. They do too, have a family to feed in their home countries and they did something they shouldn't have done, all because they wanted a better living for themselves and their families. Alright, they might be wrong in helping to vote but they are also uneducated, they don't exactly know what they are doing... When you actually watch the videos and pictures of bloodied head, of them getting pushed and bashed, you would really feel for them. I felt angst initially, seeing foreign workers coming down to make a stand for OUR country but really, as pictures are being circulated, you will divert your frustration towards the corrupted bunch of monkeys who manipulated them...
Yes, I know that PR would not overrun the government in this election, changes do not happen overnight... But we just wanted a clean and fair election so even if we were to lose, we would accept the defeat graciously. Right now, it seems that we didn't even have the chance to do so and stop slamming us, terming us as SORE LOSERS. We are just unsatisfied with the tricks used in this election and also, it was an ELECTION, not a bloody MAGIC SHOW.
This dirty and unfair election fever has not died down yet, my Facebook is still flooding with the news about it. I really hope there might still be a chance of building a democratic Malaysia, people from other parts of the world to help us, and probably... The government to wake up their bloody idea and also, forever living in their guilt conscience for using such tactics to win an election. You can have all the paper votes for yourselves but the heart of the true blue RATIONAL Malaysians, will never be captured by you.
Such a disgrace.

I was actually... Contemplating whether should I watch an episode of Criminal Minds or to blog but I guess, I should pen down my 2 cents worth of opinions about this screwed up election. Thank you people, who came back to Malaysia to vote for a difference, your votes indeed helped because... PR actually won 89 seats in the Parliament, it was a hard fought battle for all the opposition parties!
Good job, guys!!
