Just let me get it done & over with!

Is it time for coffee break yet?
Answer is... NO.

Why am I here?
Well, life is a bore when it comes to studying since it's not my forte. Instead of mugging for my paper on this coming Monday, I shall procrastinate a little and do some blogging with pictures taken by my new prime lens, Nikkor 18.5mm lens!

The pictures in this post are test-shot during random days, specifically, I played with it whenever and wherever I feel like it so... I didn't keep track of the dates of these photos taken. Great recommendation from Nengyi who told me about this new lens Nikon released and FYI, I own a semi-pro camera, which is my beloved Nikon 1 J1, which I named it as LRRH a.k.a Little Red Riding Hood. You ask me why, the answer is simple... It's in red!

So, let me begin...

On a random Saturday... I had a date with my Soul, a.k.a Cynthia Neo, that is, if I remember correctly which is gonna be 99% of accuracy. It's rare for me to go out to Singapore on a weekend unless, there are some events I've to attend and yes... Inevitably, I had to attend this make-up lecture on a Saturday morning at 830 which I pretty much agree that it's a crime to set a make-up lecture on a weekend morning... The weather was so good to sleep in but I had to drag my ass out from my comfy bed to prepare for school but overall, it was still a productive day so... All is well.

Thank goodness, Cynthia had the luxury to use her brother's car that day and hence, hitching free ride from school to SP, to Rochester Park, to Timbre at The Arts House and finally, back to Woodlands. It definitely beats boarding buses with the scrum of people rushing in and out from the doors and really, it makes life much more convenient traveling in a personal car.

This particular gloomy yet breezy weather gave us a love-hate relationship with it. The initial plan of our running route was to hit it off to Rochester Park but because we saw our MOTIVATORS heading to the opposite direction of our route, we ended up chasing after them but... We missed them halfway through the run so we ran to West Coast Park instead, to be exact, we ran to Poly Marina (where we used to do our weekly kayaking training there during the awesome Poly days) and saw our juniors there.

Guess what? This love-hate relationship with the weather was developed because... This sudden patch of dark clouds were hovering above us when we were running and it finally cried on us after few minutes of reaching PM. The rain was so heavy and we came to a halt, lepaked at PM while waiting for it to subside. Finally, the rain seemed to be showing some mercy on us and it sort of... subsided a little but still, you could feel the raindrops falling on your sweaty skins to an extend that you've no absolute idea whether was it the rain or your sweat that soaked your running attire...

Yes, we ran in the rain because there's a proverb saying,"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain" which we were obviously (at that point of time), literally living by that. The rain stopped subsequently, which was a good thing, otherwise... Mr Kwok had to wipe his bike for 3rd time already.

Time constraint was not a factor for us during that day because I ended school at 1130am and my reservation for Timbre was at 7pm so, we headed to Pies & Coffee ('cos Starbucks was full with people mugging their asses off) at Rochester Park to kill our time while having experiments on my new lens mounted on my camera!

Great companion makes you feel that time really flies.

Pies & Coffee is kind of a recommendable chill-out place, I've yet to try their food but I would go back there again if I am not lazy. Yup, we spent a few hours there just to chitchat and finally, driving off to Timbre for our dinner!

Timbre
Half-Half Pizza
Roasted Duck x Hawaiian

Timbre
Chicken Wings

Timbre
Mocktail
Lychee Virgin
(Drink don't drive, drive don't drink. Safety first!)

Sorry, but I am an avid fan of Timbre at the Arts House. I still prefer this branch here, the atmosphere and environment, the accessibility to this place are much better than other brunches. Oh, I would kill for the roasted duck pizza as well, it's just such an amazing piece of thin-crusted pizza topped with simple ingredients but yet, taste so heavenly! I always feel satisfied and happy after consuming the pizza, it never fails my palate!

Soul
Cynthia Neo

This is my soul, shot taken while we were strolling back to the carpark. Did you notice her with her right bare foot? She didn't dare to dirty the wall of parliament house, hence, taking off her slippers to pose for this picture lolol.

To end this abruptly composed backdated post, I shall post another 3 more random test-shots taken just 2 days back! I got back my LRRH just recently when I sent it for repair... There was something wrong with its hardware so better get it fixed before the warranty expires! Oh btw, the shots taken below was in utter darkness... Okay, not total darkness but the only source of light was from my laptop screen and this 18.5mm lens really take good photo in low light situations, I can't even get my flash switched on if this lens is mounted.

Alright, please wish me lucks for my upcoming finals and I hope these few days of mugging on my Prices & Market module for Monday's paper can pull me off at least a Credit LOL don't wanna aim so high because I know I suck at econs-related modules or rather, anything to do with numbers/figures I really hate them a lot, nothing can amount more hatred I have for such modules man seriously but 60 MCQs shouldn't be that hard... Right? Hopefully...

TGIF!
Have a great weekend, peeps!

All the best for all uni students who are currently pulling their hairs as they mug for their papers and may the odds ever be in your favour. Good Luck! (:
