WHAT?! NJ WITH MAKE UP?? :O
December 22, 2012
I AM OFFICIALLY BROKE.
FOR THE MONTH OF GIVING.
Wednesday.
I met up with Shini to shop for Christmas presents and to get my camera from Megatex at EXPO! Every household needs at least 1 camera... Since there's an Electronic & IT show, the final show in 2012, I told myself to complete my year with a camera so when I fly over to New Zealand during CNY, I can take more pretty and memorable peektures with my parents!! :D Alright, I told my mom I was gonna get a camera and her reply was,"I GOT NO MONEY, DON'T ASK ME TO SPONSOR..." LOL okie that's because she sponsored my ticket to New Zealand so her allowance from my Dad was halved for December...
On a bright and sunny morning, I told Shini that I'd be reaching Kranji at 10+ in the morn but guess what? AT SUCH TIMING, ON A BLOODY WEEKDAY... THE CAUSEWAY WAS JAM PACKED WITH CARS which made the buses all gotta move slow 'cos the lane was being used by the cars. I was late for almost 45 minutes but Shini has patience and she is understanding. HAHAHAHA.
FINALLY, we reached Expor and traveling from the North to the East is a torment. Sigh, when you need to get things done, you just have to suck it up and make sure it is done. Okie, so the show wasn't as big as those usually hold at Suntec City and it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be so... It was all good. I didn't have to walk thru the crowds with our skins touching one another, suffocating in the room, getting headaches, & sales personnel giving you pamphlets that is enough to wipe out all the trees in Singapore.
I got a 32gb thumbdrive for my mom before heading over to the Nikon booth and asked about V1 and J1. In the end, I got the Nikon 1 J1 and the picture is shown below! Lucky enough, the guy told me there were only red and black, which were the colours I would choose from! I thought there would only be black and white, white is sleek and nice but I'm scared it would be dirtied easier so safest choice was black and little did I know, there is red for this model. MY FAVOURITE COLOR! :D
Here it is!
My new love.
It burnt a hole in my bank account... My December allowance was all cleared in just one transaction. It costed me S$499, with a lens of 10mm to 30mm (Cos I have no money to buy the one at S$749 with 10mm - 30mm & 30mm - 110mm lens), but I was given with a lot freebies though! A Nikon traveling tripod (1.03m), Nikon Camera Bag, 16gb & 8gb memory card, an extra original battery, dry box, card reader, lens cleaner kit... I think... That's about it.
Here are some sample photos I took!!
HAHA, didn't hold it firm and stable enough.
Thus, the blurry image.
Cynthia asked me to test a low lighting shot & this is what I get!
Still a little blurry 'cos I was holding it outside my window grills, was afraid my new love would drop from 2nd level to the alley behind my house hahaha.
Insane. Insane weight on my tote bag. My timbuk2 tote bag is big enough for me to put all the geeky stuffs I bought in it. The tripod, camera, and my usual daily items. It weighs a tonne!! We literally stood all the way from Expo to Somerset and walked to the foodcourt below Concorde Hotel for late lunch at 3pm. It was KOREAN FOOD ONCE AGAIN! ^^ Undoubtedly, I had my beef sliced set and Shini ordered her some soup thingy. She asked for extra anchovies and ordered Korean spicy rice cakes as side dish. LOL, eating too much from the dishes, I barely touched my rice, probably only 1/4 eaten.
Korean Beef Sliced set!
The chili was so nice~
Alright, lunch was done, we saw Elijah, yes... EJ from our secondary school and he stopped to say HI before rushing off to some other place. Next, we headed to Orchard Central and then, Ion, to get our Christmas gifts exchange! By then, my shoulder was almost on the verge of breaking BUT NO, I'm still strong enough to carry it... HAHA.
Finally, done getting the gifts, we went to buy drinks at, Honey Lemon, Ion, before finding seats to settle down outside Muji. Then.. A familiar face came along, walking to my direction and almost past me. This was when I realized, it was my blood brother. LOL COULDN'T RECOGNISE HIM until he he looked straight in the direction 'cos initially, he was looking up to the escalator and that was when I started to wonder if that was my bro or some UNCLE. It was really him, caught him in surprise. LOL, we were so excited and I asked to take a picture with him because we hardly meet. We almost only meet once a year during CNY. LOL I KNOW RIGHT, he's not even in some faraway country...
THIS.
My bro and I.
We spent awhile talking before he went off to find his friend! Shini & I then walked back to Orchard Central. Can you believe it? To and fro for so many times with heavy bags hahaha. The motive to get back there was 'cos Shini wanted to EAT ICE CREAM from Cold Stone! She ordered all the chocolatey stuffs, chocolate ice cream with chocolate brownies and chocolate chips with chocolate dipped waffle. It was kinda sticky and sweet, literally had it stuck at your throat after each spoonful.
Ice cream for you?
^^
And then, I was seating outside while she went to get the Ice cream. Guess who I saw? LOL I SAW ZHANG YAO DONG WALKED PAST WITH A GIRL. They were conversing in Cantonese, not surprising at all since he's from Malaysia. He is really tall and lean, has a pretty face. It took me awhile to recognise him 'cos he had a geek specs on, almost covering half of his face.
& LASTLY, we finally took the train back to Woodlands to end the day of walking and spending money like it's free and unlimited.
Oh, before the day was ended, a 30 odd plus man just GMH. HAHAHA, I meant, when I got to Woodlands Interchange, just nice 950 came so I queued and waiting to board the bus but by then, it seemed to be packed with commuters already but on the 2nd look, it was because some people were just too dumb to be considerate and move in. *ROLLS EYES* then... This guy stood behind me, let me and the girl to board the bus first and he managed to board the bus too but was too near at the door so he asked me to help him to tap his EZ link which I gladly helped.
Subsequently, I managed to move inside 'cos APPARENTLY, there was space inside but people just like to stand still and wanting to movie in and make spaces for others. How inconsiderate and ignorant can one be man... You guys stand so still, not wanting to move in, you think you all standing up for NATIONAL ANTHEM IS IT?! Just can't understand them. Anyhow, the guy managed to stand beside me also, it shows how much space was there since he could move all the way in from the door to the seats. Then, it was packed with people already, so I put my bag on the floor and he kindly asked if I wanna put it on top, he could help but I sincerely declined.
Bus journey continued to the custom & we all managed to board it again at Singapore custom to make our way back to Truly Asia... Then, I didn't realised he sat beside me at the other side of the aisle until I saw someone gave up his seat to a Malay uncle without any hesitation. The uncle wasn't that old but probably in his mid forties, I guess? Imagine, this guy always travels to and fro, in and out, to work in Singapore then, back home in Malaysia, it's tired just by listening to the way he travels yet, he still helps anyone whenever possible despite being worn-out after a day of working... It just warms one heart to see such selfless acts. HE REALLY DID GMH that guys like him still exists, not that it's entirely extinct but... Rare breed.
&, with that, I put an eventfully end to my Wednesday!
Thursday.
A meetup with the other two musketeers aka the souls, namely, Shini & Cynthia. We were supposed to meet up for Christmas Gift exchange before Cynthia flew to Taiwan to celebrate Christmas there with her 3 other girlfriends and to way Mayday concert there. HOW ENJOY.
We gathered back in SP to try our luck at the badminton court... HEHE, the court was empty so we played badminton for an hour plus before bathing! We improvised the badminton game, since 3 courts were all available, we actually... Played badminton across the 3 courts. We must run and play badminton at the same time, from one end to the other, across the 3 courts. One player with be solo, another two would be in the same team and they would be doing relaying... Goodness, it was so tiring for the one-man army. You have to run to hit the shuttlecock, imagine, the next hit on the shuttlecock flies all the way across the courts, you have to sprint to get it!! It was fun but exhausting and I'm quite proud for myself 'cos being the solo player, I managed to hit the shuttlecock across the 3 courts back to them for at least a complete round which means to and fro. HEHEHE.
Finally, missed the shuttlecock, I told them I need to take a break 'cos it's taxing!!! It was a good training, training your speed, alertness, strength of your arm when you hit the shuttlecock and the angles. Oh, there was others coming in as well, I think they booked the court haha so we stopped and chilled awhile before walking to bathe and have lunch at FC3.
Then, we went to SPGG, wanting to play bowling but all the lanes were occupied... We headed to Dhoby Ghaut next to play arcade instead. HAHAHAHA like some secondary school students but oh god, Cynthia and Shini were so funny, they made me literally burst out laughing with tears. We played this shooting game, it allows 4 player to play at the same time and the story goes like this...
Me, knowing that when you point the rifle downwards, the shield will come up but LOL Cynthia was trying to figure it out and I thought she already knew but obviously, she didn't so she was doing this trial and error thingy. HAHAHA next moment, she did an action, by squating down and claimed that when you squat down, the shield will come up. LOL cos inevitably, as you squat, the rifle squats with you also. HAHA so she proceeded on and told Shini about the technique, guess what? NEXT SCENE YOU WOULD SEE IS, BOTH OF THEM SQUATTED AT THE SAME TIME AND THEIR BUTTS HIT EACH OTHER LOL I ALMOST SUFFOCATED BY LAUGHING WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT. I NEED OXYGEN TANK. Oh, needless to say... I became the leader of the team in the game. HAHAHA probably the only shooting game I would like in any arcades.
As laughter subsided, we hopped onto the train and went to Kovan to have our Thai food at Nakhon! From what I learnt, the boss was from Thailand, which made it all authentic Thai cuisine? The food was nice and at affordable prices. Long queue started to show at 7pm but that's because the shop is kinda small, we were so stressed when eating 'cos we gotta wait for Ang to arrive and everyone was staring at our tables. --.
Pandan Chicken.
Clear base tom yum soup!
We spent almost 2 hours there LOL before Ang and Cynthia brought us to Wild Oats at Punggol Park! The ambiance was like Timber, just that this is situated at a park and I was literally being feasted on by mosquitoes... Anyhow, Ang drove... HEHE, all hitched free ride from him which made the night even more convenient for all of us. ^^
Friday!
It was Winter... Solstice so in the Chinese tradition, everyone has gotta eat some tang yuan! When I was young, my mom told me that how many tang yuan we are supposed to eat depends on how old we are gonna be next year but as I grew older... I didn't follow this traditional anymore because the amount of tang yuan I gotta eat is way too much. HAHA. My mom used to make own tang yuan but in the recent years, she just get the instant ones from supermarket... <.<
Tiny Tang Yuan!
Red beans flavoured.
Basically, I chilled my Friday away at home, watching shows online, deciding what to wear for wedding dinner at night and took a few photos from my J1 to test test.
Another few sample photos!
Le me went to bathe after that to get ready for the wedding dinner later in the evening... Then, HAHAHA rare moment for me to put on make up and get dressed up so... GOTTA CAMWHORE A BIT, RIGHT.
Mom in the background!
Adjusting her belt~
Pink lipstick from Mac!
OOTD.
Oh, after attended so many balls, social nights...
I learnt to put on my own basic make up.
GUESS WHUT, I even helped mom w her eyeliners. ^^v
Off we go!! To the wedding dinner but the restaurant was so far from my house and on a Friday night, with the rain, at rush hour, made the traffic congested!! it took us an hour or so to get there but was glad that dishes came out pretty fast once everyone seated at their respective tables. I was actually filling up seat for mom's friend HAHAHA but I was seated with all the aunties that I know, no awkwardness at all and all of them kept asking me to eat. HOW TO NOT GET FAT?!?!?!
Wedding dinner menu.
YAY, no shark fin. :)
The door gift.
A little.. Cheapskate.. HAHA.
FINALLY OMG WE GOT BACK HOMEEEEEEE!! At about 11plus, and my mom went out continue to drink with the friend whom followed us to the wedding as well. I thought where my mom gone to when I couldn't find her in her room. Someone pressed the bell and my mom went down, next moment, she wasn't at home already. She gave me a scare, but then I called her and she said she was out with friends. TSK THEN NEVER SAY. SO LATE ALREADY, even my dad was already soundly asleep...
Okie, that's about it for Friday and today...
I slept at 330am, woke up at 1020am, I realised the lesser I sleep, the earlier I can wake up. What kinda sorcery is this?! Then, spent the whole morning uploading photos and reading the articles on "Alvin & Yuki", why their wedding got canceled just 2 months before... It sounds dramatic but I'm no one to judge. It was said to be caused by a 3rd party, a Singapore blogger... Named Zoe Raymond. How true is that, I have no idea but I enjoyed reading the many incidents happened hahaha. Just to kill some time in the meantime also!
I WONDERED HOW LONG HAVE I SPENT TO WRITE THIS POST OMG IT'S SUCH A LONG POST MAN SO OKIE, BYE!!!
