Hello, people!
Firstly, HAPPY AWESOME 2012 TO YOU GUYS!
May it be a smooth-sailing and a fruitful year for us! Hope everyone has come up with all their new year resolutions, targets to meet, things to achieve and will be completing all these by the end of 2012! :D
Next, I would like to say...
It was a great start of 2012 for me! A well-spent night at Grand Hyatt for RSN NYE Ball 2011 and then, heading to Jiayao's house and meet up with the rest of the SPA peeps to laugh the night away, embraced a great 2012 morning!
So... New Yea Eve!
As promised Muxing to go for his RSN (Republic of Singapore Navy) NYE ball, I met up with him at Woodlands before heading down to Orchard and surprisingly, we bumped into his friend at the escalator exiting to Orchard MRT.
A few of us chilled at Far East Plaza for some Yakun toasts before heading to Grand Hyatt for the event. We met up with the rest outside the hotel before going in and I only know there were Amos, Jiahao, Jeremy, Vivek and their respective partners dining with us at the same table. Surprisingly, it was not as awkward as I thought it would be, maybe because Muxing's friends are all around my age and we pretty much clicked well since we could disturb Muxing with his vegetarianism, especially the one we met at the escalator (whose name was not really introduced to me). He was the one who kept on coming over and keep toasting with Muxing, trying to make him drink his glass of red wine or purposely place a plate of unfinished roasted duck meat in front of him. I mean, SPA people always do that to him and now, even his navy friends too.
Anyhow, it was easy to engage into conversations with most of them, some would take the initiative to start the ball rolling too so it wasn't that bad after all. Anyhow, guess who was the emcee for the night? It was Hossan Leong, oh my god. I swear he had indeed entertained us well enough for the final night of 2011 with all his jokes and singing cum dancing. Oh, even their lucky draws were all expensive stuffs, from wine or champagne to massagers to iPod Shuffle to iPod Touch to LCD TV to S$1000 worth of traveling incentives! A splendid night with RSN, I must say!!
Countdown for 2012!
Yes, for my countdown for 2012, it took place in the ball itself whereas Felicia's gang (Jiayao, Edwin, Yutai) headed to Woodlands Waterfront to catch the fireworks, Thomas & Shini were sending Guoshu to Clarke Quay and ended up getting stuck in the traffic congestion while coming over to Orchard... SO, Thomas spent his last few moments of 2011 with Shini, which both counted down in the car with the radio. HAHAHAHA epic countdown but I'm sure it's gonna be memorable. For Muxing and me, we counted down with the rest of RSN members in the ball, toasting with everyone. The only thing missing is the FIREWORKS! I didn't get to see any this year but nonetheless, it was still great! :>
Many thanks to Thomas and Shini who came over and pick us up to Jiayao's house which we then spent our first 2012 morning over there. It was filled with nonsense, nonsense and more nonsense! Of course, there were also bursts of laughter everywhere in the house. We did everything in SPA style cos when we were playing street fighter on PS3, loser has to do 25 pushups, not excluding girls at all! HAHA, it got us hyped up even though we were merely just the audience.
Then, we started play card games, from Cluedo to Pictureka! Wowwwww, Cluedo was mad fun, trying to infer and filter the unwanted cards and guessing the location, suspect and weapon for that particular crime! We got addicted playing it then we finally started with Pictureka whom Muxing had to read the rules and tell us how to play! HAHA, that game was nonsensical man, we practically just trying to fit in words we could find from the card, it's like saying black is white colour. With all these cards playing, we actually played it for hours, from 330am to 7am before they started playing boxing game on PS3 (I DON'T LIKE, it didn't feel like I'm punching my opponent unlike for street fighters) and then half of their soccer match on PS3 as well.
Strong like a robot.
Oh yes, this means that most of us stayed awake through the night (Muxing, Thomas, Edwin concussed for at least more than an hour, Felicia and Yutai took a power nap) and I gave in when they played 10mins of soccer on PS3 in the morning. I sank into deep slumber within a few seconds and finally... Off we go for McDonald's breakfast at Yewtee!
Teehee, first meal of 2012!
First and official breakfast with SPA peeps for 2012! How awesome it is! It's like my first day of 2012 was really legendary spent with my awesomest friends alive and I hope this tradition continues and may our friendships will never waiver! (Insert many heart-shape here)
Alright, done with breakfast and Jiayao sent the northlanders home (but Kranji for me since I'm going back Malaysia) and Thomas was the one sending the westlanders home! Yes, an awesome night/day before my parents picked me up at custom and headed for Ah Soon Bak kut teh again... I should have just waited for breakfast with parents man but fret not, I still had 2 pieces of taupok, 1 piece of bak kut and 1 small bowl of doughstick with them! Tell me how great was my first day of 2012!
On a side note,
2011 had all its ups and downs, all of them taught me wonderful lessons. I'm glad I have a bunch of awesome friends, like people from SPA whom I'm really really close with. People like Shini, who's so helpful and will be there for anyone at anytime, Felicia and Jiayao, who would ask us for supper and gathering weekly, even coming to pick us up or drive us home! Fennec Foxes, always the cheerful pack of foxes, juniors from SPA, like Edwin Grylls (BJF, KTB, STRESS, CHAPOLATEY, PBYX, MONG) and Jianwei (BRUDDERRRRR) who are the closest juniors to me, showing their care and concern for me despite being younger than me! Many thanks are not enough to express my gratitude so may we all hangout together always! :D
Alright, till then!
I hope you guys had an awesome final night of 2011 and a legendary welcome of 2012!
This year is gonna be a fantabulous one for everyone!
With many loves,
NJ.
