Winter Break!
December 06, 2011It's been awhile since I've blogged.
Time for a little catch-up, shall we? :)
For the final week of November...
I had a vacation in Hong Kong as per planned before my finals! It was one of my post-exams activities, one of those was also visiting USS and stuffs like that. I can't really remember what else I've planned but that's about it for now. Alright, so now, a small section for my Hong Kong trip!
Hong Kong, November 2011.
The weather there was cooling, a hoodie over you would generally solve everything. The temperature there was about 18 - 25 degree Celsius when I was there. Anyhow, we went there for a week, 7D6N, which was a little too long for me. It got boring towards the ending of the trip 'cos there's actually nothing much for you to do. It's just an island slightly bigger than Singapore.
Tourist attractions.
From what I could remember, we visited the night markets, Ngong Ping - Big Buddha, Hong Kong Disneyland (which is really for kids and I do much prefer USS), Ocean Park (somewhat similar to Genting but slight bigger, maybe it's the combination of Sentosa Underwater World & Genting Themepark), Victoria Peak cum Madame Tussaud and... That's about it?
4D3N should be enough.
You would be excited to indulge in their local delicacies for the first few days but it gets boring since whatever you see and eat is pretty much the same thing. After a few days, you would miss our own local food like laksa, rojak, chicken rice, chili sauce, chili padi and all the spicy stuffs. It's a great place if you go there for a weekend and it can sum up an awesome weekend for you but nothing longer than that.
Oh, I missed Singapore.
Yup, we touched down back in Singapore on the 30th Nov and guess what? We didn't buy anything from Hong Kong, I ended up buying Absolut Vodka (for next SPA gathering, gonna drink it up with Jianwei, like how our brudderhood is formed) and also, Choya (Royal Honey, for my Mom). Then, I paid in cash and guess what? The cashier gave me back S$5 extra for the change & I only realized it when I was already out from the DFS, which I could not go back in there. Oh well, bad for her, good for me.
I missed Singapore but it sucks too.
Just a few days back to Singapore and I already feel like going back to Malaysia which I've been doing so for the past few days and now, I'm back in Malaysia typing all this. Nothing beats returning back home, with nothing worry about and your parents are always there for you, buying you your favourite food and get to eat home-cooked meals. :')
There's always a reason why.
I just find it absurd/ridiculous/unexplainable but maybe, that's different way of thinking, working for certain people and pretty much as I thought, this should not be hindering me from leading a happy life. Why spend time & effort on this unimportant/insignificant/diminutive issue, right? If I could make myself happier by stepping out then I would gladly do so & trying my best to do it now. I'm progressing - this is something for sure. By the end of this year, it would be would a great start of a brand new year of 2012. It's funny how things work but that's life. Learn to accept it and live life GRACIOUSLY. Anyhow, I'm not obliged to do something as told by anybody unless you're my mom or dad, if not, just STFU. There's a thin line between closed ones and acquaintances, and I treat different people differently. Period.
(OH, I've learnt something from my dad just recently. He told me & my mom that it's no use being angered & make your health deteriorates. Learn to stay happy & don't be bothered with useless stuffs)

SCSM 2011!
It's the inarguable, annually affair with Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon! We met again, this year I improved my timing by about 45mins - 60mins as compared to previous two years which I spent most of the time walking. Anyhow, I completed it in 6hrs, 29mins, nothing to be proud of 'cos I was aiming for 5 hours. I should have eaten lesser when I was in Hong Kong & spend more time in running. My sole motivation was actually David Goggins who only sleeps 3 hours a day, runs 25miles, bike 25miles to work and run during lunchtime if possible, bike 25miles back home, do weight-lifting with wife, and sleep after that, mostly after 12mn. No joke, that's his daily routine and you guys should just google him and he will be your new inspiration/motivation. Oh, another motivation I had in me was actually... "If I stop, I will have muscles cramp on my thighs & calves... & also, if I stop, I cannot lose weight." HAHAHAHA.
It was a great run nonetheless.
It marked my 3rd marathon & I joined my first marathon when I was 18 (the legal age to join a full marathon) and yup, I've been doing it as a yearly event. It's just great to complete it and you will be rewarded yourself with a full-body of muscles ache. Definitely, I had a massive sense of accomplishment and next year, I will try to improve my timing again. :D
Alright, there's about it.
Till then,
annjay.
P/S: Looking forward to year end!
P/P/S: May me meet new hot navy officers/ NDU divers! :b
P/P/P/S: People, feel free to ask me for a swim!
P/P/P/P/S: Christmas is coming, so is New Year &... CHINESE NEW YEAR!
