SPA FO Camp 11/12!
The 3 of us!
As usual, nonsensical us!
Annual affair with the SPA.
First camp of SPA this year was launched on Friday's evening, with a total of 80 over freshies. The number of campers wasn't a BIG digit to WOW you as compared to Eugene and Shini's FO Camp but it was as fun! The games, the activities, the event flow were all good. It was the food part that kinda screwed up.. Nonetheless, just learn from the experience! :D
The ultimate adventure begins..
Day 1: Let's bond together, you know my name & I know your name!
I was the first alumni to actually reach school so early, 15mins before the actual start of the camp! Initially, I thought I would be left out since the working comms had to get busy with the camp but I blended in well. HAHAHAHA, crap but I'm close with a few of them so it's not a daunting task to mix around.
Teehee, they needed a photographer but at the same time, GLs had to be with their group to hype up the atmosphere thus... I took up this job and used Fauzi's super duper heavy DSLR (because of that 18mm - 200mm lens attached). No joke, the DSLR successfully made me massage my own right arm after 2 - 3 hours snapping of photographs.
First night was okie.. I guess? Campers seemed to enjoy themselves (from what I see) but yup, there were complaints on the supper provided though. I need to agree that the milo they made for the campers was way too sweet, as if you were drinking sugar water literally, maybe with a pinch of milo taste.
Alright, end of first night, campers bathed, slept/roamed around and there were other clubs having camp too so ended up, toilets were all being used when Shini & I decided to bathe. HEHE, our adventure spirit definitely brought us further to get our way into the toilet at SP Swimming Pool, we dominated the whole toilet! Done with showering, got back to the classroom, thinking that everyone should be sleeping but instead, there were a few still murmuring & FARTING away. FINALLY, I crashed at 5am..
Day 2: The ultimate adventure begins.Campers gathered at 9am for breakfast, we woke up at 7am to prepare ourselves to prepare the breakfast (working comms), set up the abseiling and rock climbing walls, the weird captain's ball game and the rest of the activities for the day. Again, Fauzi's DSLR had been mine to continue with my job!
Mid of the day, campers headed to the NTUC together with their respective GLs to purchase food for their field cooking while the rest of us took the chartered bus to Poly Marina. Human chain formed in the bus to pass down all the bags (campers + comms + alumnus) and Hadi captured a funny video of Yutai's actions. It will make you ROFLMAO but not all get to watch it yet, I THINK. Funny shots were taken while waiting to prepare for the game stations, buddha jumps, stupid jump shots, dry swimming, all sort of nonsense.
My lunch for the day: KOI & MOS BURGER, since there were people asking for orders so might as well have a nice lunch before I get starved for the rest of the day. HEHE. Hmm, game stations allocated at different venues were part of the adventure race programmes, I hope they enjoyed each station because I was tied up at my own station together with Meng Yang so I didn't know what was going on at the few other stations.
Field cooking: Campers from one group actually forked out another 70$ just to purchase 5 packets of Australian Sliced Beef for their dinner. (Y) First time ever in SPA, made it to the legendary moment. Yes, all the while I was snapping photos once again but there was a camper actually came to me with a cup of drink - he said I had been taking photographs, deserved to get some drinks and rest. Greatly appreciated!
Gala Night = Bapok Night: SERIOUSLY, the bapok couples would freak you out when they tried to get closer to you. LOLOLOL but I admire their spirit, the male campers really threw away their face by dressing up like some omgz tranny and the whole night was "EVERYDAY I'M SHUFFLIN'" HAHA, everyone was shuffling their way in and out, like some crazy clubbers.
Supper time: (Oh before or after supper, we actually had a game of captain's ball and I guess that's why I'm still having muscles ache now. LOL) Finally, dinner and supper were settled with 50$ worth of 80 pieces prata. LOLOLOL, I had no idea why they bought pratas instead of packet food, because the cost would be around the same but when you're hungry, anything that goes into your mouth would definitely taste nice.
YAY, end of day 2, bathed and slept really well on the floor in the air-conditioned room with hammock wrapping around me, even thought it was only 4 hours of sleep.
Day 3: Let's get wild and wet!
I bet last day of the camp was the most enjoyable one! Campers get to kayak and go out for a boat ride (sea activities), accompanied by some land activities too! The only group who took the boat ride with me definitely enjoyed themselves. HEHEHE, they said the it was awesome when I drifted the boat.
As quoted from facebook: "HELLO NJ!!! OMG I LOVE THE WAY YOU DRIFT THE BOATTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" - Eric Lim.
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE, they must really had fun with boating and was the only group that I actually went boating with. WHAT A HONOUR. HAHA.
Land activities were some.. Catching, dog & bone and some other I-don't-know-what's-the-name games. I joined one of the groups because of the pathetic number of campers left in it. Quite a number of campers left early, leaving that group with only 5 - 6 people BUT, the camp was still an awesome one!
This done and that done, last day of the camp done. Campers were debriefed by their GLs, alumnus were slacking around, Shini & I went to bathe first! HEHE, smart move so we didn't have to wait, just like the previous 2 days!
Back to our room: Everyone was engrossed in watching the "Running Man", some Korean Variety show I introduced to them (but I didn't actually continue watching it because I don't have the full episodes and have no idea where to get them) and it was mad hilarious + exciting. HAHA, we spent an hour plus or so watching it before the mass debrief for everyone at the campers' room.
BREAK CAMP!
SPA FO Camp 11/12 successfully ended, hope everyone enjoyed the camp as much as I do - the first SPA event (with freshies) I went back as an alumni. HEHE, and guess what? I got home at 7pm, washed up, didn't have my dinner nor unpacked my bag, I slept instantly until 11am the next morning. I.WAS.REALLY.THIS.TIRED.
Alright, camp was done and over with..
War of uploading high resolution pictures (1484 of them) from CS' DSLR begins.
This was the first time I actually uploaded that many pictures and it took me 28936418750 hours to do so but today, I finally get it done (uploaded every single photos, looking through every single photos & tagged people whom I know and could recognise) This is not an EASY job and up till now, my facebook is still flooding with notifications of who & who tagged who and who on my photos, who and who commented on my photos and the list goes on and on...
GREAT, I'm finally done typing this.
I'm gonna.. Try fixing the connection on my nasty Blackberry and stop typing anything at the moment. LOL, I'm so sick and tired of staring at my facebook with new notifications popping out every now and then, typing so many letters everywhere. Need a break!
Goodnight, lovelies!
Xx,
