How much did I really studied today. It was indeed a very slow progress for me. :(

Chapter 5: Motivation
Why motivation is important:
Improves profit margin
Improves productivity and performance
Promotes culture, trust and loyalty
Reduces staff turnover
Attracts quality talents

Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs:

  1. 5 Basic Needs
  2. Once a need is very important for that person, he will get motivated and have the drive to fulfil it
  3. If a person's need is already met, he will move on to fulfil a higher level of needs and the satisfied needs will not take priority again
  4. Frustration will arise if management fails to fulfil staff's needs

  1. *****Physiological Needs (Water, food, sleep, breathing)
  2. ****Safety Needs (Security of health/property/body)
  3. ***Love/Belonging Needs (Family, friendship, sex intimacy)
  4. **Esteem Needs (Confident, achievement, self esteem)
  5. *Self - Actualization Needs (Morality, creative, lack of prejudice)

Herzberg's Two Factors Theory Of Motivation:
  • Hygiene Factors -> Motivators

Satisfaction:
  1. Primarily result of motivator factors
  2. Helps to increase satisfacton
  3. Has a little effect on dissatisfaction

Dissatisfaction:
  1. Primarily result of hygiene factors
  2. Absent/inadequate of factors cause dissatisfaction
  3. Its presence has little effect on long term satisfaction

Incentives to motivate events workforce:
Financial:
  1. To increase productivity
  2. To increase earnings without increasing unit cost of production
  3. To encourages better method of working
(Wages, bonuses, hourly plus overtime rate, tips, CPF, contract work)

Non-Financial:
  1. Fairly Intangible
(Working environment, job promotion, flexible working hours, training schemes, safety)

Semi-Financial
  1. For salaried staff
(Study loan, medical benefits, childcare subsidies, insurance)

I guess, if I continue to type out everything I remember.. It will be a friggin' wordy post. Alright, I woke up pretty late today and only started revising at 8pm with Shini accompanying me at Woodlands Point McDonald's. I didn't know that on every Sundays, the McDonald's there closes at 10pm. We left there at about 9.45pm and walked to the bus-stop and walked back to Woodlands Point 'cos Shini that urinator wanna urine.

A chinese proverb that says,'懒人屎尿多' really suits her well. :)

Bus-stop was packed with throng of people and we decided to walk back home since buses were all caught in the jam that resulted in not many buses arriving at the bus-stop. As normal, we could laugh all the way from Woodlands Point back to Marsiling MRT station. -.-

That shows how was my day and I didn't memorise Chapter 6 and 7 which I think that they are redundant. Chapter 7 is more to common sense about COMMUNICATION while chapter 6 seems so.. useless? I don't know but it is like.. grr.. W.H.A.T.E.V.E.R. I guess I will just read through it once more tomorrow for chapter 6 and start to really memorise the important ones.

Tuesday.. END OF EXAM and start of attachment real soon. :(

Good Night,
Lovelies. <3
