Then again, nothing beats my English Breakfast from Wild Honey so far. It's still sitting on top of my list after so so longgggggggggggg.

 

The initial plan was, her order should be the french toast where as I have my eggs ben but she actually ordered the french toast set as dessert... I kennot. Again, 3 sets of breakfast for 2. 2 girls. Girls. GIRLS. I don't know, maybe we have huge appetite.

 

The whole Sunday was eating and just eating.

(& I am not even guilty about it like WTF, what's going on?!)

 

So, before our dinner at PS. Cafe, we caught a movie (unplanned) over at Cineleisure. Not sure how was the movie like but we bought the tickets anyway... It wasn't that bad but it ain't that good either.

 

 

It's about Pyramid. I meant, the title is "The Pyramid" so it must hell be about pyramid... So what the hell am I talking? I don't know. HAHAHA so anyway, it's about a group of researchers who found a pyramid buried underneath the ground/sand and it only has 3 surface, not the usual 4.

 

Then blah blah, they wanted to find out what's in the unique pyramid and stuffs so they eventually entered the pyramid which they shouldn't have had done so and the adventure/mystery took place. I must say, some parts of the movie did scare us a little bit (PARTLY BECAUSE OF THE 2 OTHER GIRLS WHO SAT BESIDE ME - THEY TALKED THROUGHOUT THE DAMNED MOVIE, TELL EACH OTHER HOW SCARY IT IS AND STUFFS AND OMG REALLY. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE. They were quite jumpy so when they kinda jerked, my chair was affected so I did the same at the scary part.)

 

Anyway, the ending was pretty... MEH.

 

Movie ended and we made our way to PS. Cafe at... Palais Renaissance.

 

We've been there before but didn't get to try the truffle fries so the aim for that night was to try it outttttttttt. Everyone was raving about it so how could we not give it a try right!!!

 

For a price of S$15 for a huge plate of truffle fries is kinda worth it. Even the small mess tin of truffle fries at Skinny Pizza is already S$7? Why not go for a bigger portion with shredded cheddar sprinkled on top?

 

The King Prawn Aglio Olio is pretty nice too, probably 'cos of the choice of pasta they used - Capellini aka Angel Hair pasta but most of the prawn related pasta uses such spag anyway. The serving looks huge but I'd managed to finish almost everything omfg, carbo loading I am gonna dieeeeeeeee.

 

Guess what happened next after (heavy) dinner at PS. Cafe?

 

We were supposed to be walking around to digest but ended up, queuing for Honey Creme over at 313 (the queue wasn't that long and the line was moving fast so why not?)

 

So the lady bought the original or traditional flavour at Honey Creme, topped with a small piece of macaron (S$2 for the top-up, WTFUG). The soft-serve is just so mediocre?!?!?!?! I really don't understand the hype about it...

 

It's just a normal soft-serve (or maybe it just feels lighter and healthier???)

Okie, that pretty much summed up my Sunday for that week.

So, now, let me end this post with a face of mine, holding onto the French Toast from Dean & Deluca.

 

(I personally liked the chewy bits of cornflakes but the caramel syrup/sauce is way too much for me to handle. Literally, it stuck at my throat for the whole day and we didn't manage to finish that set too... Oh, they changed the thick toast to a thinner one :( )

A Saturday full of running errands before I met up with the girls for the simple birthday celebration but hey, at least we'd unknowingly fulfilled C's desire to try the lobster rolls over at Platypus Lobster Shack (She mentioned to another friend of hers the night before and yeah, that's called telepathy. HA).

Horrible Bosses 2

Horrible Bosses 2 is obviously a sequel of the 1st film but seriously, knowing that I'd caught the first part previously (which was eon years ago), I seriously had forgotten everything about it. Who the hell release the sequeal 3 years later?! Anyhow, it certainly did make us chuckle a few times tho.

Platypus Lobster Shack

Then, as mentioned, we headed to somewhere near China Square, where this whole alley is filled with bars/eateries, like a smaller scale of Boat quay, for our dinner at Platypus Lobster Shack!

Truth to be told, I was kinda stoked to try the lobster rolls, after reading the reviews online, and the pictures people posted... Although it might be only just the normal hotdog bun, in this case, filled with lobster cubes and some seasoning/sauces, at least it's something new in... Singapore, and probably worth a try, right?

So, we ordered 3 different flavours and we didn't even share it amongst ourselves HAHAHA whut the hell, and ordered... The Crustacean Bowl which is higly raved by many. Oh, all the lobster rolls look the same, it's kinda tough to differentiate them on our own.

All lobster rolls can be ordered with (S$22.90) or without set (S$19.90), and the set includes a side salad, and chips drizzled with truffle oil.

C's Lobster Roll:

Spicy Roasted Garlic

(Butter-poached lobster meat, roasted garlic flakes, mayonnaise, chili, garlic)

Shini's Lobster Roll:

The Traditional

(Butter-poached lobster meat, roasted garlic mayonnaise, chives, sea salt)

My Lobster Roll:

Spicy Diablo

 (Butter-poached lobster meat, home-made mayonnaise, piquant garlic, spice)

For this, I guess the only difference is... It has a hinge of spiciness, like some red-pepper powder...

Our Starter:

Crustacean Bowl

Uni-creme, butter-poached lobster, Japonica rice, honey ponzu, caviar, char-grilled cheddar cheese, sesame, chervil (the char-grilled cheddar cheese makes it tastes like the sauce drizzled on top of  the Shiok Maki from Koh Grill & Sushi Bar).

The truffle chips certainly win over the tastebuds of the two girls but I'd still prefer my truffle fries omg, my undying love for potato...

8/10 people say we look alike.

Even the girl herself, saying she looks like me.

(Actually,we were sourcing out to find a place for dessert so C could get an advanced b'day cake)

& then, Shini led us around like idiots, walking from one point to another, from China Square to Raffles to the alley behind Boat Quay then returned back to Boat Quay for pretty MEDIOCRE cakes at Madame Patisserie (explains why the place was empty...).

Although the desserts kinda sucked but we had absolute fun exploring Shini's new phone, AKA the Sony Z3? The one which claims to have the highest rating for its waterproof capability and the camera has so many functions, as though you are using a compact camera but iPhone 6 still beats it hands down. WOOHOOOO

Chasing Cab

Yes, you read that right.

People would be chasing stars but it's not the case for us.

Long day, late night, C was screaming for a cab home instead of the public transport. So, we were all trying to hail the cab opposite Boat Quay but you know, it's always jinxed. For wherever you are, the cabs just seem to be at the opposite side of the road instead.

We headed down all sides of a T-Junction to hail a cab and unknowingly, we tried our luck right in front of Supreme Court HAHAHA whutttttt the hell, until the Cisco security guard approached us and informed that we cannot hail a cab there... The policewoman in our group actually... Brought us there and right before we were in front of Supreme court, we all were actually chasing a cab that was going towards that direction.

How retarded.

Anyhow, we still manged to got onto a cab 'cos it stopped right in front of us, at the red light hahahaha, otherwise we could have needed to queue at an offcial cab stand (with quite a bit of people) for god knows how long.

A short Sunday update.

SCMS 2014.

Shini had to change her shift with a colleague so she could not make it down together with me as erm... Supporter for the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2014.

The initial plan was to head over to ECP at their halfway mark and get ice-creams for my peeps but hahaha my sense of direction, especially at the East is horrendous (and that's 'cos Shini was unable to go with me) so I ended up going to the finishing point which was at The Padang to wait for my friends.

The moment I met them, also came across a few juniors as well, I felt so proud and acomplished for them. I've stopped running full marathon 3 years ago because, why spend such a hefty sum to torture your legs (like, I am not those who would run long distance consistently, the pair of legs are totally not seasoned for races like this).

For that 3 years, after the each completion of my full marathon, I would feel ever so proud of myself, despite the timing was so shitty but still, I freaking completed 42.195km with just both of my legs man.

It's not about the running or walking, it's about completing. As long as you don't give up, victory will be yours and destination will be reached.

So, really...

Kudos to the runnners upon their completion of the marathons (in whatever distance they participated for) and I hope the running desire will not dies off.

Yes, I've officially gone missing for almost a month... I didn't really have much time to update, since the time left isn't even enough to clock in for 8 hours of sleep every single night. So if there's extra time, I'd use it to... Sleep otherwise, I will feel really listless the next morning.

Now that I am back here virtually, I would post up my South Korea trip, 3rd day in Jeju entry! As usual, we spent 4D3N in Jeju, similar to the other two places; Busan, & Seoul. We were kind of a little regretted to spend so many days in Jeju... We could have reduced it to 3D2N and spend an extra day in Seoul. Nonetheless, it was still a damn good experience.

For the 3rd day in Jeju Island, we had our must-eat-toast at Habong Toast again, before heading to the bus-stop to proceed to our bus terminal for another bus. Life's as a backpacker... Not pampered at all, we did all the navigation (Shini did most of it - 99%) to all the places we planned to visit.

 

(This draft has been sitting in there for months, or a year already 'cos I backpacked to South Korea last year end with my partner-in-crime... No idea how come this post isn't posted but yup, here it is!)

 

This should be the last full day we had in Jeju and actually, I couldn't recall what we did on the last day since it was a year ago but it's for sure, WE WENT TO XXX TRICK ARTS MUSEUM. LOL probably, that's the only tourist attractions back then, besides the lakes/waterfall/river and it was super inaccessible to places in Jeju.

 

We had to note down the timing for the shuttle services and if you missed it, the next bus is god-knows-when. Also, the journey WAS mad long, at least a 2 hours ride man... We spent a lot of time just on traveling and trying to get back to town before sunset (which was super early 'cos of the transition of season - Autumn to Winter).

 

The weather... Was mad cold as well.

 

Most of my time in Jeju, I was having brain-freeze whenever the cold air blows.

Seongeup Folk Village

 

After the first half of the day spent at the Trick Eyes Museum, we walked out, and continued walking to this Seongeup Folk Village.

 

It's practically, NOTHING hahaha wtf and I don't know why my friend brought me there... To see the ledge of the entrance. Uhm... Well, at least, the weather was cooling enough to walk and there wasn't many cars at all.

 

The village was as dead as Silent Hill.

Then, we finally got back to our hostel after 56152 hours of journey by bus and beats me, I've no idea what are these two peektures below suppose to mean...

 

& I remember, I was being video-taped for trying to wear as many layer of clothes possible and asking people to guess it.
