My blogging habit is back to the irregular intervals again. Nope, not because I am already working but it's just that I didn't have the mood to do up any post. I'm lagging behind time for my Jeju Island final 2 days draft as well and have no intention to compose it now too hahahaha.

SIM Xtreme Trail V

This was my first adventure race this year, and also my virgin participation for this race. I had joined xPhysique, ATC for a few years which were all under NTU Sports Club or ODAC. This year, my usual teammates, Thomas & Jiayao intended to try out for SIM Xtreme Trail again. They joined it last year but was together with another female runner and this year, I actually had the privilege to participate with them.

Trainings

If it wasn't for the postponement of the race, I could not have made it. The race was supposed to be the first Saturday of 2014 but due to some unforeseen circumstances, they postponed it to the 15th of Feb and that was how, they decided to join it! On the very day we registered for the race, it was actually just 3 weeks before the actual day. Clearly enough, we didn't have much time to train for it since one of the week was allocated for CNY.

When there are more than 2 in a team or in a group (for casual meet-ups), it always seems to be harder to accommodate the available date and time for everyone. We only get to train 3 times in total before the race since both of my teammates were busy with school and I was the only one as free as a bird (excluding all the interviews I needed to attend).

NTU SRC had been our training ground for this race. We would meet in the evening, after Jiayao was done with his school to train together. For the first training, power run was not exempted at all, it's like a norm whenever you have to train with Jiayao hahahaha. The power run x static workouts for our Taiwan climbing trip made all of us handicapped. Just for the first training, we already felt like dying and couldn't even walk at all. Apart from that, this time round, power run wasn't as hardcore since I managed to get Weiloon & Yutai to join us for the training.

Thanks to Yutai, he said he could only do 4 sets (he is one fit guy but probably also 'cos he had canoe polo training afterwards) and told Jiayao I would have died if were to complete 6 sets of power runs x static workouts, especially I don't really train so intensively now. In the end, Jiayao was lenient enough to reduce it to only 3 sets and I must say, it was really stressful (and always will be) whenever I train with the guys. Ultimately, I will become the weakest link and feel like such a big burden to them...

We did power runs as usual, trying our best to clock the fastest timing, otherwise, the rest who are doing the static workouts would need to keep on doing it until the runner is back. PEER PRESSURE; so if you run slow, they have to do longer. Now you understand how I felt the other time? Timing was taken after each run and guess what? To my surprise (& also Jiayao's), I actually ran faster than the time we trained for our Taiwan trekking trip.

Not sure how, but I seem to be BULKIER than before (nothing's new, all girls will always think they are fat) but managed to clock in faster timing. I was quite hyped up for the training, and with so many NTU students on the track, the only thing on my mind is,"I need to run faster so I won't throw my face in NTU" hahahahaha and also the peer pressure training which maybe, subconsciously, made me run a tad faster than usual.

3 x power run, alongside with lunges, push-up, bicycle crunches, superman to complete. While the runner is on the track, the remaining 4 will be doing each of the workouts, taking turns. Basically, there are 5 stations to go, from power run to push-up, lunges, bicycle crunches, superman. After 3 sets, we were done with the track... & that was not the end of the training...

Yutai left us for his canoe polo training, Weiloon continued our training with us until all his climbing friends arrive for their own training. We carried on running around NTU compound after our power run sets, and NEVER IN MY LIFE, I RAN UP SO MANY HILLS IN A SCHOOL. I almost died running, just the first 500m, my calf cramped and I had to stop and stretch my muscles before I could continue. Thank goodness, it was fine after stretching it and I managed to complete the whole run.

Without fail, Jiayao always will try to make us sprint up the damn hills/upslopes. He would say something like we are reaching soon... Then, a motherfather steep slope will appear and the next moment is,"now, we will sprint all the way up, no stopping!" OMG KILL ME PLEASE. I stopped HAHAHA I really couldn't handle such steep slope for the first training man...

Finally, first day training ended. Power runs x static workouts + LDR, an awesome start to our first training cos it left me with all the muscles ache. The feeling of satisfaction and it simply means that we've tried hard enough. ALSO, IT FEELS SO DAMN GOOD to train with my fellow SPA mates. It's been awhile to get together with trainings ever since we graduated from SP.

The post above is a super backdated post which I did not publish it, not sure what was the reason back then but... Yeah...

For the actual race day, Thomas & I were punctual for the meet-up at the pickup point by Jiayao, but this Jiayao overslept, only waking up after I made a call to Felicia, who then phoned his sister to wake him up.

The sister & husband sent us to ECP from Yewtee, and the husband was literally tailgating every single car in front of us, overtaking cars whenever possible. I could really drown and die while worrying for my life... Nonetheless, we arrived the destination in one piece and we had to rush to get changed, and immediately registering for our team and detail.

The Race.
Once and for all, IMHO, I felt that the race could be planned better... Anyway, with the insanely hot weather; the hotness is out of the world, you would feel like dying for every step you take. Then there will always be this saying ringing constantly in your mind,"PAIN IS TEMPORARY, GLORY IS FOREVER." LOL but seriously, my quads were bulging, teammates were asking how did my biceps end up on my legs...

ANYHOOO,
After few days of investigation and follow-ups with the race results, we were informed that we got 3rd for our category... We lost the glory on stage, and part of the prizes... MEH and they were not willing to up our cash prize to cover the lost of prize items (which the previous team had taken it).

What Adventure Race Has Taught Me

As a *quite* frequent participant for various competitive adventure races... I realized, each time I join an adventure race, I gain a lot of insights.

What has adventure race taught me?

Before the race:

1. Teamwork is important
With no team dynamic, there won't be motivation to carry on with the race. If you wanna be solo flyer or one-man army... You should just join races that are cater to individuals. It sucks to be in a team where teamwork is nowhere to be seen. Can you imagine, in a group of 3, there will always be one of them who is so far in front, and the rest of the team members will feel like shit, thinking that they are such a heavy burden for the team. Truth be told, the "slower" team member will inevitably feel very demoralized, and that's the last thing you want it to happen during a race which could affect the progress of the team.

2. You wanna win? You gotta train
No pain, no gain. As simple as that. When it comes to races, any type of race or competition, if you wanna win, you gotta put 101% of effort in trainings. Clearly explains why, national athletes, Olympians take years to train, and they train everyday in order to win during the race/ competitions. For team races, it is important to train together so you know where to improve, who to improve, how team members can achieve better results by helping one another.

3. Only use your already seasoned equipment
One does not simply buy new running shoes and use it during a race. Your feet will end up with blisters when it is too new, so it is essential to only use your already seasoned running shoes for the race. Even if your current pair is wearing out, make sure you get a new one ASAP and wear it for trainings at least a few times before you eventually use it for the actual race. You don't want any regrets.

4. Be prepared with essential items for the race

What are the essential items you need for an adventure race? The most basic stuffs you need to have are actually a water bag (that fits your body size), energy bars & gels, hydration salt, compass & maps, pens & notebook, ziploc or waterproof pouch, running compression tights, and muscle rubs/spray. These items are important... No joke, race can last you up to 8 hours, without all these, you might be in trouble. Dehydration, not enough salt, muscle cramps and whatnot. It's best if you can wear a cap and shades for the race as well. Sometimes, the sun is undeniably scorching hot.

5. Get enough rest
The night prior to the race, it is advisable to get ample rest. For instance, sleeping early and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Training should come to a halt for a couple of days before the race so your muscles can recover and get ready for actual event.

6. Eat the right food
Eat well such as low glycemic carbohydrates (oats, apple, bananas), and make sure you have good breakfast as least two hours before the race. If time is a factor, eat a light meal an hour before the race, also, hydrate yourself well enough so you won't be dehydrated just when the race has kicked off.

During the race:

7. Hydrate yourself whenever possible
While others in the team are figuring out the next location or waiting for the rest to complete their parts for the station, it is good to be drinking water whenever you realize you have nothing to do. Do not drink water only when you feel thirsty because deprivation of water will make your muscles cramp. Doing such adventure race often exposed you to the burning hot sun, you will perspire a lot which makes you lose your body fluid pretty fast. Nothing to do during the race? Drink water.

8. Energy bars/ snacks, hydration salt
When you feel light-headed or totally out of energy, it's time to do some snacking. Or, allocate your energy snacks intervally. For instance, after 2 hours into the race, it's time to consume the snacks. Another hour later, consume a pack of hydration salt, make sure you are well-fuelled in order to carry on with the race. As usual, without sufficient salt, your muscles will give way... It happens to me A LOT of times, making my whole freaking quads so tensed, I couldn't even bend my legs.

9. Use the right motivation phrases

Jiayao who was one of my team members, he was also used to be my ex-trainer... The way he motivates people are way different from others. He motivates while teaching us how to run better, aside from those typical,"EH, YOU CAN DO IT!!! COME ON, JUST RUN! DON'T GIVE UP!!" This kinda motivations, the person who uses it definitely deserves a big tight slap on the face. It's annoying and demoralizing... A few phrases Jiayao used on me during the recent adventure race are:

"Don't stop, just maintain at this speed is good enough."
"If you are feeling tired, distract yourself... Try to daydream or focus on your breathing or learn how to navigate from the map *passes me the map & teaches me how to navigate*"
"Smaller steps, faster pace!" - The rational behind this is because, if you take wider strikes, you feel more tiring... So he asked me to take in smaller steps but at a faster pace.
"Whenever your legs are cramping, stop and walk... There's no need to force yourself and injure your muscles. Run only when your muscles are ready to take the impact.

10. Read the station instructions carefully
Instructions to complete the task are important. You need to understand it before you undertake any actions... Provided that the instructions given by the organizing committees are not misleading as well. Do not just hastily skim through the instructions just because you want to head off first... It may backfire.

11. Refill your water bags wherever possible
Bottles of water are normally found at all stations for runners. When you realize your water bag is getting lighter, you know it's time to refill it. WATER IS IMPORTANT... Also, if there are bananas or energy gels/ bars given, do not hesitate to get some. It will be a life saviour.

After the race:

12. Rest and recovery are important
Muscles are terribly sore? It is time for the muscles to get their well deserved rest. Get enough rest, no more strenuous workout on the muscles. Dipping into cold bath works as well, or getting a massage. It's good to head for a swim after the strenuous race since swimming goes easier on the joints rather than a recovery run.

13. Eat the right stuff
After a race, it's good to replenish the nutrients which are lost during the race. You can eat grilled chicken for its lean protein and carbo, salmon with sweet potato to since salmon provides joint support and sweet potato can replenish glycemic carbo. Chocolate milk for carbs and proteins recovery as it replenishes the fluids lost as sweat, calcium, sodium, and sugar during workout/race. There are many other varieties of post workout/race food, just google it up!

Basically, these are the few pointers I've had learnt while doing a race... & hopefully, I am joining more races with my fellow usual teammates so I can still be learning and share my experiences with everyone. I'm just an amateur racer but each experience is truly memorable.

All the effort, time, and sweat we put in for training, and the journey from the pre-race to the end of the race deserved to be recorded.

I'm not very into clubbing, so not really sure if the DJs are famous or not but it was really an awesome night!!

How's my colored hair?

As mentioned in previous blog post, the glowing paint was literally hair gel for me hahahaha so sticky but it was pretty easy to get washed off actually. WAY EASIER than the powder used for Color Run, the powder stayed on my skins for almost 2 days and it was majority in red color.

This year, I've joined a handful number of races...

They are more of non-competitive events, like those "LET'S ENJOY THIS RACE TOGETHER, HAVE FUN AND GET BONDED!" kinda run. I would actually tell people to WALK THE RUN instead since the races are only 5km, and they are not cheap. The cost of such races easily amount to more than S$55, so if you really wanna enjoy the whole run, it's good that you walk or jog really slowly for it. Enjoy every bits & moment with your friends, and it's always the company that makes the whole run/event an unforgettable one!

Just this year, I participated in Color Run, Race The Dead, Illumi Run for non-competitive races. I actually have no recollection if I signed up for any competitive races except for NVM this year (FYI, I kinda semi-retired for adventure races already hahaha, my teammates are too pro & I don't wish to be burden!), and probably... Commando Challenge on this coming Sunday. HAHAHA just kill me. I haven't really interact much with the team, and basically, I am pretty much like an outsider...

No idea what kinda feelings I must pack for the race on Sunday and to be frank, I won't initiate any training or ice-breaking meet-up if I am NOT the leader of the team. Everyone might be individually fit but if you signed up for team events, it's all about the team dynamic, getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of one another, to form a better team with good understanding of everyone's condition...

But no, nothing has happened.

Maybe everyone's busy with their life, it's hard to accommodate with everyone's schedule but again, if you want the best for the team, I am sure you will be more than willing to fork out some time to bond together. Not as if I've never joined adventure race with unknown before but at least, I knew one of my teammate good enough, and we tried to meet up for training but his friend still couldn't make it... So I only met my other teammate only on the race day itself. I am totally fine with it, cos of different elements posed from the races.

X-Physique, is an annual adventure race organized by NTU Sports Club. It's a race that requires you to navigate, to run, & complete different tasks at different checkpoints. The various tasks range from no-brainer to some complex IQ puzzles, to simple yet hard to accomplish (What I mean is, some task really need LUCK to get it done), and some obstacles components. So, team dynamic isn't AS IMPORTANT if I were to compare it with Commando Challenge.

On the other hand, Commando Challenge, just by this name of the race, perfectly sets me thinking that it might be a hell lots of physically-draining obstacles, like what, 100 push-ups within 2mins, towing the tires, do skipping with ultimate thick and heavy rope, or some standard operating course that is being carried out for the Commando cadets in training? This is gonna be the first Commando Challenge in Singapore, seeing various Youtube clips from the US, doesn't make the challenge seem anymore less challenging...

SO, by understanding everyone's condition is pretty much critical, no? At least you know how each of our body works, how much our body can endure, how can we complete daunting task as fast as possible AS A TEAM... And by breaking the ice first, at least you won't feel awkward during the race when you have to get help from your teammates, and especially in close contact.

Worst of all, I have no idea if my own fitness is on par, or even, if it's near to theirs or not. I really kinda regret agreeing to join them and I succumbed to the offer because:

1. Time is running out for Early Bird registration

2. They really cannot find any other replacement to fill the slot

3. Really, time is pressing...

Oh well, I just hope it will be a smooth-sailing race for me, for the team. 12km with 25 obstacles... I (we) can do it, as long as I (we) don't stop, we will definitely cross the finishing line...

ALRIGHT, no point worrying anymore.

Yesterday,
I woke up in the morning and met up with Edwin before heading to PM for sea training. Totally deprived of sleep but need to pass him stuffs so by hook or by crook, I had to go down! Weather was rather cooling but I guess I was slightly burnt from the UV rays instead! Anyway, guess what? Felicia and Jiayao came over for kayaking too, we bathed and Jiayao drove us to Bukit Timah Food Market for dinner before driving us home and I concussed shortly after in the car.

Back home,
I actually made the effort to unpack my stuffs before I straight away dropped dead on my bed at 630pm. I was really THIS tired and I couldn't even be bothered to reply any messages despite waking up a couple of times. I set my alarm at 430am but ended up waking at 5:18am automatically, after 11 hours of sleep. FABULOUS.

Morning, rise & no shine yet.
Brushed my teeth and took out my contact lens (Yes, I slept with contact lens last night, very tired, okie?) Bathed and finally caught up with cyber world in the early morning while waiting to meet my awesome foxes for the annual inaugural ATC 2011 at Khatib. HEHE, finally a race in the north!

All 4 of us were in the same train but different cabins. HAHAHA, ended up meeting each other at the gantry and headed to the holding area. We actually reported 3 hours early because of the delay in the race. It's actually good to report early so we had the chance to change our sizes for the race singlet. It was so small in size, made us look like dumplings!

30mins before the race and I felt the hunger. I had my breakfast at 6am or earlier, can't blame me for getting hungry. I had to eat, otherwise I would be a damned burden for the guys and lucky enough, our race delayed so I had a rough 1hr to digest the food so I wouldn't feel so full. :D

Together with Yuduan's team, we jogged to the first station which was kinda far (to me, and actually it was far for all the stations) HAHAHA, what a loser, we saw the first station and sprinted there, kinda blocked the other teams at the station when reading the instructions on the table. LOL, is the table too small. HAHAHA. This station was awesome cos I had a damn good coordination with Yutai. We completed the walking for 1 round at the field with legs tied together, putting both of our hands into the same glove and folding the origami with awesome teamwork. (Y)

Great start of the race!
Imagine a team with 3 casualties from previous accidents, we completed the race like a boss. We swam, kayaked, cycled, ran, tunneled, jungle trekked and abseiled (oh, fighting the scorching hot sun, (they) ran with the water bag) as though none of us was hurt at all. Yutai's a good source of motivation, his never give up spirit and believing we can do it despite having injuries was really awesome. Good job, bro! Well done, Team Y.X.M.N!

HEHE, much giggles and walking!
Sun was a torture and I'm really burnt. The stretch to the kayaking station made me !@#$%^&*. No shades at all and the sun was literally cooking my skin. It was all red even though it wasn't even half of the race yet. Kayaking was fun, at least better than X-Physique. In fact, ATC was really much better than X-Physique.

Why ATC?
The elements, the stations they planned were so adventurous, bashing through the jungles, tunneling, swimming, abseiling, mountain biking, paddling with closed-deck kayaks & walking in the drains are way more fun and adventurous than X-Physique. We didn't have to navigate at all too, just follow the designated signs but some of the routes were kinda demoralising. One whole stretch of road without shades. It's cheaper too but goodies bag wasn't as good as X-Physique. NTU Sports Club have more $$ than NTU ODAC. HAHAHA, it's true anyway. SPA also have to fork out own money whereas SP Sports Club is never lack for any monetary measures.

Alright alright,
Race was done and over with! My team and Shini headed to NorthPoint for lunch + dinner at Pastamania since we have vouchers from ATC. HEHE. Whoa, splendid dinner and really glad that Khatib is just few stations away from my house. I get to reach home first and get the much deserved rest! :D

Home sweet home!
Unpacked my clothes, washed my dirty shoes (it's really gonna R.I.P soon, after 3 years of serving me with all the trainings, races, marathons) and thighs! A sense of big accomplishment, doing all these as soon as I got home. Then, I bathed and came online continued watching my Hell's Kitchen Season 5! Missed it so much, 2 or 3 days of not watching it and finally, I completed it tonight. HEHE.

I guess I shall hit the sack soon!
For waking up so early and tomorrow shall be my rest day! Finally, I'm done and over with for all the races in June! X-Physique (Ran in the heavy rain), NVM (Climbed 63 storey with limited ventilation) & ATC (Teamed with awesome foxes, completed the adventurous race in the burning sun like a boss!) They made my first 3 weekends of June a wonderful and healthy one. Great company with awesome peeps, couldn't ask for more. :)

X-Physique 2011.

Unexpected pair of teammates I've got for this year. Normally, I'd join the race with my fellow SPA mates but they were waiting for their enlistment letter at that period of time, so they couldn't make a decision to join or not. This explains why I was teamed with Fel's ex-colleague (a friend of mine too) and 1 of his friends whom I only met the first time during the race day itself. HAHAHA.

Everything was good...
The running sucks big time. I've no idea why but the routes this year were way freaking too far apart. It was like running one big round just to get to the destination and then, we had to run to the next station with the same route we came with. So... It was like running the same route twice for maybe, 3 - 4 times for the entire race?

I always heave a sigh of relief each time we arrived at the stations - I FINALLY HAVE THE TIME TO REST. I guess I'm only good at stupid games, the station whereby you need to push the glass of water on the table into the small square, throwing the plastic balls into the basket & throw the frisbee & make it land nicely in the allocated box. Guess what? LOL, I did all that with just 1 try, my teammates were like saying "Okie, NJ, you go and throw the frisbee." HAHA, I thought the frisbee lost its direction but somehow, it landed on the box so YEAH, that station was done pretty quick - Shorter time to rest. :(

These 2 stupid places made me run like there's no tomorrow. THE DISTANCE FROM PREVIOUS STATION TO THERE WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME FAINT. I could feel that my speed is as good as brisk walking. Sorry to Thom & Yutai but I guess I put in more effort this time, I ran even though I think I could just stop and do the brisk walking. LOL. Too bad, when I walk, you guys would walk with me too, as in togetherness, not that you guys are weak. I'm always the weakest link in all the teams for all the races. No worries. HAHA.

Oh, before the race..
It was pouring really heavily with thunders & lightnings. The race was delayed for about 2hours, we only started when it was already 10am and we reported 3 hours earlier. You can literally take a nap before the start of the race man, we only reached back to the finishing line at about 3pm? Everything was delayed, I don't even know the results of the race and rushed back home already.

It was still a pretty nice experience.
First time ever, I joined a race and ran in the rain for quite some time and my tee was so heavy, totally soaked. I could literally squeeze out the water from my shorts and shirt and the wind was like, resisting me from running forward at ECP. Hmm, I just feel weird without proper bouldering and abseiling sections.

They made us climb trees instead (with tiles attached on the trees) and then, belayed us down. LOL. Kayaking part was the same as last year, did some lame kayaking to the bridge, U-turn and back to shore but smart enough, this time round only needed 2 to be in the kayak. Last year, 3 in open deck kayak, only 2 need to paddle. This year, 2 in the kayak and 1 just stay onshore. LOLOLOL. Only that, cycling for this year was quite a distance, the most drastic change of activity compared to last year.

Pretty much summed up the whole race.
Still, I hated the route planned for this year, the distance was really horrendous, taking the same route back even though we were heading to the next location. Totally demoralizing, each time they told me "We need to run back the route we took to here" WHOA, the distance is no joke. I could only run that fast and that much. My legs are now aching as if I did a full-marathon yesterday. How to enjoy when I'm in Krabi?!?!?!

Oh well, done with the race.
I rushed back home to bathe and head out to town again. It was like Marsiling to Dhoby, Dhoby back to Marsiling, Marsiling to Orchard, Orchard back to Marsiling. To and fro, to and fro but it was inevitable, need to get things done in one way or another.

We dined at.. Tampopo but none of us ordered ramen. I had.. Special Katsu Don? I FORGOT THE NAME, it was rice with egg over it and fried breaded pork or something. I couldn't finish it, too much water during the race, maybe. I collected my chocolates and seriously, beats other chocolates hands down. I thought it's nut coated with chocolate but the moment I bite it, the chocolate literally melts in my mouth. It tastes fantabulous. I'm truly amazed, some high-class chocolates, definitely worth being fat. Seriously serious. HAHA.

We didn't get anything or rather, I've nothing to buy, maybe too tired to think even though it's GSS now. GSSSSSSSS. So tempting to just spam $$ on everything but anyway, when we walked past Forever21, familiar song caught our ears and just now it's the song playing on my laptop now; If you ever come back - The Script.

Starbucks.
LOL, I forgot a lot a lot of stuffs yesterday, Starbucks debt was cleared, I got my free Starbucks (Sorry Shini, it's not you who bought the Starbucks, you still owe me one more :D) & I saw one of the freshies from SPA FO Camp, I've no idea what's her name, but we could recognise each other, ain't that bad since I didn't really mingle with them during the camp, I was the photographer and that, I wasn't allocated to be a GL but still, I knew a few of them though.

HOME SWEET HOME.
It was a splendid night, forgetting about something related to my grad and I received it when I was almost home, surprisingly. Told you, I forgot a lot of things lately but I got them all in a night. Wonderful. I'm happy that you're happy, even happier that you sounded really excited/happy, really happy with the notebook. Not to forget, the chocolates are awesome. FAT DIE ME CAN JUST WAIT FOR NOW.

Oh, yes.
Sucks but I'm coughing like mad and whole body is aching. Every inch of my muscles. I hope I will end up with a really toned body after the race and trainings I attended last week. HAHAHA.

Good evening!
It was a long SUNDAY for me & I shall talk it in details! HEHE, sorry if the post is lengthy but who cares, if you're interested, you definitely will read every single word posted here. One good example: Felicia Chua Jing Yi!

Let's rewind!
So last night... Mom and Dad brought us out for dinner as usual! Everytime I'm back home in M'sia, we never fail to dine out because my mom doesn't cook on weekends, sometimes FRIDAY also considered as weekend for. Anyway, mom wanted to have dinner at somewhere further from our house but it was raining like some madcowdisease and I swear the lightnings resemble the flashes from the DSLR when photographers are trying to capture the beautiful moments of the stars on the red carpet. I flinched each time I saw a lightning outside of my house. :O

Everything's packed!
Off to bed as soon as I felt my eyelids started to weigh heavier than usual but I actually spent an hour playing my iPod Touch before I eventually fell asleep at about 2.30am after realising I had an offline message in MSN! I've this habit of signing into MSN before I sleep to check up on the newest updates nowadays.

Rise & shine!
Curtains were drawn by... I don't know who, it's either my mom or my aunt for preventing the sunlight from shining into the bedroom! It's really bright if the curtains are tied up so I had a good night sleep, partly because I had a good dream too! HAHA, my alarm started to annoy me at about 1030hours but I kept snoozing it until an hour later, when I started hearing my BB ringing with facebook notifications, bbm messages, whatsapp messages, new email & new tweets!

WIFI IS WORKING ON MY BB!
YES, it is! Okie, it was working on my BB this morning when my aunt switched on the modem and miraculously, it successfully connected to my BB. I guess the wifi used the night & did self-reflection, granting my BB a working wifi connection in the morning! Happy girl am I, receiving all these messages and email, with a favourite face attached in one of the messages!

Alright, and then...
I dragged myself off the bed and bathed before heading to custom after lunch with only my mom (my dad went for some golf competition at somewhere else)! Guess what! M'sia custom was still crowded with people coming into M'sia for the long weekend, omg. It's really a bad idea if you wanna cross the customs during public holidays. You will spend half a day trying to clear the customs, no joke man.

Back to Singapore!
It was a smooth-sailing journey with no congestion at all, be it the vehicle traffic or the human traffic. It was all smooth and next stop after clearing the customs was to head straight to town for race pack collection! I'm glad we had seats in the train, standing all the way from Kranji to Somerset would kill my back with such an heavy bag!

OMG, need some fresh air.
Town was pretty packed today, probably because today is a Sunday and tomorrow is a public holiday! Hmm, I still window-shopped at some malls to scout for a blazer but to no avail. The one I wanted to get from Uniqlo doesn't have the color I want anymore. Sigh! I shall wait and look out for better deals! Everywhere is having sales too! Summer clearance sales & it's the start of a new month (OMG, IT'S FINALLY MAY!) which means, your pay is coming in! Time to do some shopping and pamper yourselves, people!

Alright! I'm back home!
After a long day out, walking here and there with super heavy bag. Omgz but I finally made it home! It feels so good to be home, heavy loads off the shoulders, receiving messages on my BB, a refreshed bath! SHIOK but I feel so tired right now. I need to catch some sleep before kayaking tomorrow! OH, initially we (Shini & I) planned to run but I'm seriously too exhausted to drag myself out. LOL, plan failed but still, we are gonna kayak tomorrow. HEHE, let's get tanned!

Shape Run 2010.
You go, ladies! :D

Shape Run 2010.
It totally drained me out and volunteers were even more tired than the runners. We reported at 11pm and then, waited until 7am for the 10km run flag off. Guess what, I seriously dropped dead for 6hrs once I go home, without eating, bathed and slept shortly after. Dang.. I even continued doing my report which was due yesterday after such a tiring dayyyy. :(

Monday was duuuh.
School was alright, we finished tutorial in class and I totally slacked during the mass lecture and a lot of us brought the wrong set of notes so.. I spent time listening to my iPod Touch and slept throughout the lesson but well, the lecture was redundant anyway.

Library is the next clubhouse.
I hit the library after school while waiting for poly 50 training to start and sigh.. Only 5 upgraders came for training, some of them didn't even know about the training yesterday and a few of them were busy with school work but anyway, WOAH, we only had poly 30 with 14 - 15 of people and that could actually made me wanna die but I still survived. TEEHEE. Running with SP trackers really put stress on me. LOL. No kidding.

Late dinner at 10pm.
With extra side dish Shini ordered. (Y) I couldn't finish my food and have no idea why, probably because I just finished a run and made me have no much appetite. Yes, finally back home, get myself cleaned and started doing on ESH mini project.. Off to bed shortly after!

Morninggggg was OMG, cooling!
Yes, there were like 5 SMS-es and I'm such a light sleeper, even just with the vibration, I could wake up and yes, my phone is in silent mode ever since ages ago but anyway, everyone was sending me morning texts and finally dragged myself out of the bed and replied all of them before heading for school.

Imma happy girl!
Off to school happily with laptop in my bag, Baoling saw me when walking to the class for mass lecture and I sat with her, having her to help me in highlighting and writing on my notes. (Y) Best sister ever and yes, after an hour of lesson.. I headed back home. Best. After class, I called my classmate and she told me F&B tutorial was canceled so I was like.. "HUH? ARE YOU SERIOUS??? HUHHHHHH?!?!?!" Thinking that she might be having a prank on me so I asked my another classmate and it turned out to be real..

Hitchingggggg free ride..
FTW. Yes, not too bad.. When I was walking to the MRT station, they rang me up again, asking me where was I and they are gonna fetch me home. HEHEHE. Nice! Thanks Atik for the ride, damn.. It's good! Woohoo, thus.. I am a happy girl today and yes, I finally changed my bank book! I need to go back to M'sia and pass my mom my bank book already! I miss the food! :(

Hokay, I wonder..
If I should catch Inception at CWP later but a lot of SPA peeps wanna watch also, maybe postpone it to some later dates this week? Aye! No idea but well, we'll see how laterz and I haven't been eating since I woke up. FML.

NTU Adventure Race!
I'm so gonna post about this whole race but not every single thing of it. HAHAHA.

The night before..
I packed my bag and had only 4hours plus of sleep before I set off to Somerset and met up with my team members - Yutai & Thomas. Basically, I shouldn't have wasted money in buying those barsssssss 'cos I didn't eat them at all except for the leftover breakfast bar and energy gel from last year Standard Chartered Marathon. Sigh, no money now, gotta save and save. :(

Good morning, Singapore!
I woke up at 5.40am, didn't even dare to catch another 5 more mins sleep and headed to bathe, online while having my bread for breakfast then heading out to catch the train to Somerset. Weekend's morning train sure takes long to wait as well and resulted me in 10mins late while meeting up with my teammates but we were way too early anyway!

Scape Youth Park!
We prepared ourselves and registered before boarding the bus and headed to some don't know what ulu places and had our first station started. Cool, we were managed to clear it fast and proceeded on and so forth. Anyway, there was 1 part I nearly died because.. The station with the code "Burger King" needed us to slide down the TARPAULIN and they poured water on it to make it easier to slide. Guess what? It was easier that I almost flew out and in the end, I hit the drain but luckily, when I fell in, I just hit my knee with only abrasion and blueblack. Phew!

Yutai as the human GPS.
He's the smartest brother of mine ever. Looking at the map and gave us directions. I was glad that I actually teamed with him and Thomas. I only helped out for 2 or 3 stations but the only thing I could do was to.. Try to run as much as possible and not being as a burden. HAHA. I'm sorry if I made any mistake along the race, teammates! Thanks Thomas for the reminder of drinking more water, eat more, try to jog and pace and help me when I was in need. 3 cheers for my teammates! :D

Ending point!
Finishing line and I swear I was goddamn happy by then. HAHA. Finally, everything was over and time to get some rest, grab some food. We finished our race at around 2.20pm and chilled while waiting for the rest. In the meantime, I slacked, ate, slept, woke up, reply SMSes, slept, woke up and waited 4 hours for the prize presentation ceremony!

Legendary phone call.
HAHA!!! The call was made to me, telling me my team had won a placing for the X-Physique race and needed our shoes size 'cos one of the prizes is Sanuk Sandals. Cool! Alright, it's those slippers and not the covered sandals 'cos we only got 3rd in place. 1st place gotten the covered sandals and TIMBUK2 bag. Damn it.. Sigh, bag gone just like that but nevertheless, we got back a lot of stuffs though! :D

Mad fungry.
Next stop, we went to Cineleisure for dinner at Pastamania. Omg, I was goddamn super hungry and my brother came looking for me and irritated me. I was mad hungry and wanna eat, he kept asking nonsensical stuffs and I scolded him f.off. I felt a tad guilty after that but then, wearisome and with combination of hunger really made someone fed up easily. ZZZ!

Alright, home sweet home!
Got back home, unpacked my bag and threw my muddy clothes and shorts into a pail to soak with detergent and also, my pair of adidas shoes into another pail for soaking as well. I hope the mud will come off and I wonder if I should wash it tomorrow morning when I wake up for school because right now, I am super tired. :(

I think, it suits you more if it changed to SPWSA. I felt it dumb when you wasted money on something that you didn't put your best foot forward. I guess, it was the 1 and only case out of so many of it that ended up to be the other way round. I mean, when you try, maybe even just for a tad fun, you should have tried your best, right? I'd rather you donate the money to charity and also, don't effing say whosoever is a drag because no one actually wants it that way. Think before you say anything, sometimes it just hurts your friend. F*cker.

P/S: A pity to know the results of the trial but well, I hope handsome receives good news from the email though!
